국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 아동의 학교적응이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 이 변수들 사이에서 자아존중감이 매개변수로 기능하는지 확인해봄으로써 삶의 만족도 증진에 기여할 수 있는 기초 정보를 확보하는 것이다. 방법 육아정책연구소의 한국아동패널 13차년도(2020년) 자료를 사용하였다. 13차년도 자료에서는 지금까지 참여해온 패널 아동들 대부분이 초등학교 6학년에 진학하여 학령후기에 청소년 시기로 전환되는 시점으로써 패널아동들의 발달특성을 반영하여 변인을 설정하였다. 한국아동패널 2,150 가구 중 현재 유지되고 있는 1,397가구의 표본 중 학교적응, 자아존중감, 삶의 만족도 모두에 응답한 1,359명의 자료를 분석하였다. SPSS ver 25.0를 사용하여 통계 처리하였다. 아동의 삶의 만족도에 관련된 변인을 측정하기 위하여 검사를 실시하였으며, 구조방정식 모형에서 변인으로서 학교적응, 자아존중감, 삶의 만족도를 선정하였다. 결과 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교적응, 자아존중감, 삶의만족도 사이에서 유의미한 상관이 나타났다. 이는 학교적응력이 낮을수록 자아존중감이 감소하고 삶의 만족도가 감소하며, 학교적응력이 높을수록 자아존중감이 증가하고 삶의 만족도 역시 증가하는 것을 의미한다. 둘째, 학교적응이 아동 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향에서 자아존중감의 매개 효과를 살펴본 결과 자아존중감이 부분매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 아동의 긍정적인 학교적응은 아동의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다. 이를 토대로 아동의 학교적응은 삶의 만족도뿐만 아니라 아동의 자아존중감에도 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인이라는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 아동의 학교적응과 자아존중감, 아동 삶의 만족도 향상을 위한 실질적인 개입과 다양한 프로그램 개발이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of children's school adjustment on life satisfaction and to determine whether self-esteem functions as a mediator between these variables, thereby securing basic information that can contribute to the promotion of life satisfaction. Methods We used data from the 13th year (2020) of the Korea Child Panel of the Child Care Policy Institute. The 13th year data reflects the developmental characteristics of the children in the panel, as most of the children who have participated in the panel so far have entered the 6th grade of elementary school and are called adolescents in the later stages of school age. Of the 2,150 households in the Korean Child Panel, we analyzed data from 1,397 of the 1,359 children who responded to the school adjustment, self-esteem, and life satisfaction questions. Spss ver 25.0 was used for statistical analysis. Tests were conducted to measure variables related to children's life sat-isfaction, and school adjustment, self-esteem, and life satisfaction were selected as variables in the structural equation model. Results The main findings of the study are as follows First, school adjustment has a positive effect on children's life satisfaction. Second, school adjustment has a positive effect on self-esteem. Third, there is a partial media-tion effect of self-esteem on the relationship between school adjustment and children's life satisfaction. Conclusions This means that children's positive school adjustment affects their life satisfaction. Based on this, we can confirm that children's school adjustment is an important factor that affects not only life satisfaction but also children's self-esteem, and it is necessary to develop practical interventions and various programs to im-prove children's school adjustment, self-esteem, and life satisfaction.
