간호학생의 임상실습 중 환자안전사고 경험

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 간호학생이 임상실습 중 경험하고 있는 환자안전사고의 의미와 경험의 구조를 규명함으로써 이 경험의 본질을 기술하고 이해하는 것이다. 방법 연구 참여자는 D시 1개 대학의 간호학과 재학생 중 임상실습 경험이 있는 3, 4학년 학생들로서 임상실습에서 환자안전사고를 경험한 학생 중, 본 연구에 참여하기를 동의한 자로 선정하였다. 면담에 사용된 주 질문은 “간호학생으로서 임상실습 중 경험한 환자안전사고는 어떠하였습니까?”였다. 경험의 본질을 심층적으로 이해하고 기술하기 위한 현상학적 연구로 진행되었으며 자료 분석은 Colaizzi가 제시한 7단계 절차를 따랐다. 결과 원자료에서 추출한 주요 진술은 총 162개였다. 주요 진술 중 내용을 가장 잘 반영할 수 있는 진술로 의미를 구성한 결과 86개의 의미를 구성할 수 있었다. 이들 의미로부터는 일반적인 의미를 도출하여 참여자의 임상실습 중 환자안전사고 경험을 나타내는 18개 주제로 구성할 수 있었다. 연구 참여자의 임상실습 중 환자안전사고 경험은 ‘총제적 점검이 필요함’, ‘역량이 부족함’, ‘예방이 절실함’의 3개의 범주와 이에 속한 9개의 주제모음 및 18개의 주제로 규명할 수 있었다. 결론 참여자들이 경험하고 있는 임상실습 중 환자안전사고는 조직의 환자안전문화와 관련이 있으며, 이 경험은 환자안전사고 예방을 위해 간호학생부터 단계적인 역량강화, 조직의 보고학습시스템 정착, 환자안전과 관련된 총체적 점검이 필요함을 나타내고 있음을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to describe and understand the nature of this experience by identifying the meaning and structure of patient safety accidents experienced by nursing students during clinical practice. Methods Participants in the study were 3rd and 4th graders with clinical practice experience among nursing students at 1 university in D City, and those who agreed to participate in this study among students who experienced patient safety accidents in clinical practice. The main question used in the interview was, “What was the patient safety accident you experienced during clinical practice as a nursing student.It was conducted as a phenomenological study to understand and describe the nature of experience in depth, and data analysis followed the procedure proposed by Colaizzi. Results A total of 162 key statements were extracted from the original data. As a result of constructing the meaning as a statement that can best reflect the content among the main statements, 86 meanings could be constructed. From these meanings, the general meaning could be derived and composed of 18 topics representing the participants' experience in patient safety accidents during clinical practice. The study participants' experience in patient safety accidents during clinical practice could be identified into three categories: “a comprehensive inspection is required,” “a lack of competency,” and “a desperate need for prevention,” nine subject vowels and 18 topics. Conclusions Patient safety accidents are related to the organization's patient safety culture, and this experience indicates that nursing students need to strengthen their capabilities in stages, establish an organization's reporting and learning system, and conduct overall patient safety inspections.
