교양영어 수업에서 Padlet 활용에 대한 학생들의 학업성취도와 수업동기에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 온라인 토론게시판, Padlet 활용이 대학생의 학업 성취도와 학습 동기에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데목적이 있다. 본 연구의 참여자는 대학영어 수업을 수강하는 총 144명의 대학교 1학년을 대상으로 진행되었다. 연구 도구로는 사전, 사후 테스트가 시행되었고 설문지가 분석되었다. 그 결과로 Padlet 활용은 학생들의 학업 성취도향상에 영향을 주었다. 또한 개인 학습동기와 팀 내 학습동기에서 긍정적인 응답을 보였다. 또한 학습 이해도가높은 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 학생들의 스트레스를 낮추고 학업 몰입도와 자기주도적 학습을 높이는 데에서는다소 부정적인 결과를 보였다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕 한 제안 점으로 첫째, 교수자와 학습자 간의 의사소통의 부족을 향상시키는 방법으로 온라인 토론게시판의 활용은 대안이 될 수 있다. 다양한 수업활동을 개발하여 학생들의적극적인 참여를 유도해야한다. 둘째, 학생들의 성향에 따라 개방성에 대한 각별한 주의가 필요할 것이다. 마지막으로 학생들 스스로를 자기주도적 학습자로 성장시키기 위해서 주체적으로 활동할 수 있는 새로운 수업모형이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of online discussion board and padlet use on academic achievement and learning motivation of college students. The participants of this study were a total of 144 first-year college students taking college English classes. For the study, pre- and post-tests were conducted and questionnaires were analyzed. As a result, the use of Padlet had an effect on students' academic achievement. In addition, positive responses were shown in both individual and team learning motivation. Also, it was found that the students’ learning comprehension was high. However, it showed somewhat negative results in lowering students' stress and enhancing learning immersion and self-directed learning. As a suggestion based on the results of this study, first, the use of online discussion boards can be an alternative as a way to improve the lack of communication between instructors and learners. Students should be encouraged to participate actively by developing various class activities. Second, special attention should be paid to openness according to students' characteristics. Finally, in order to develop students themselves into autonomous learners, a new class model should be developed.
