북한이탈부모의 교육관여 특성과 저해요인에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 북한이탈부모의 교육 관여 특성과 저해요인이 무엇인지 알아보고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 연구자는 충남에 거주하는 북한출신어머니 10명을 대상으로 약 6개월 이상 참여 관찰하고 심층 면접을 하였다. 면접 질문 완성과 분석결과 검토는 다수의 질적 연구 경험이 있는 교육학 교수 2인과 탈북청소년지원센터의 책임연구원 1인의 자문 내용을 반영하였다. 결과 연구 결과, 교육 관여 특성, 한국 상황 관련 저해요인, 그리고 북한 경험 관련 저해요인 영역에 걸쳐 19개의 주제와 42개의 하위 구성요소, 120개의 의미 있는 진술이 도출되었다. 최종 도출된 주제는 자녀교육에 대한 낮은 기대, 자녀교육에 대한 무관심, 양육자신감 부족, 체념, 돈을 버는 것 중시, 의사소통 부족, 자녀의 행동 관리 감독 부족, 지식 부족, 시간 부족, 신분 노출에 대한 두려움, 지원에 대한 정보 부족, 남북한 교육 차이, 관계 맺음의 두려움, 의무교육 후의 진로 선택권 제한, 지식인에 대한 소득보장 상실, 교육수준과 사회적 지위의 불일치, 상명하복 참여 방식, 교육-직업-소득 간의 불연속성, 교육의 주체는 학교라는 인식이었다. 결론 북한이탈부모의 교육적 관여는 한국에서의 처한 상황뿐만 아니라 북한에서의 제도적, 사회적, 경제적 경험 때문에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 북한이탈가정의 교육적 관여를 지원할 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study attempted to investigate the characteristics of North Korean parental involvement in their children’s education and the factors that hinder them. Methods To do this, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 mothers who were from North Korea and reside in Chungnam. Results As a result of the study, 19 themes, 42 sub-elements, and 120 meaningful statements were derived in the areas of the nature of involvement in education, obstacles related to the situation in South Korea, and obstacles related to the experience in North Korean society. The final topics were low expectations for children s education, indifference to children s education, lack of parenting confidence, resignation, emphasis on making money, lack of communication, lack of supervision of children s behavior, lack of knowledge, lack of time, fear of exposure to status. lack of information about children support, education differences between North and South Korea, relationship between North and South Korea, restrictions on career options after compulsory education, loss of income guarantee for intellectuals, discrepancy between educational level and social status, upper and lower class participation method, education-job-income It was the perception that the school was the subject of discontinuity and education. Conclusions Based on the research results, implications for supporting the educational involvement of North Korean parents were presented.
