국문 초록

이 연구는 수업 실행의 선행변수로 보고되고 있는 교사의 태도, 교사의 효능감, 교사가 지각하는 교장의 변혁적 리더십 (공유적 수업리더십, 비전제시, 전문성 개발) 등의 원인변수가 지속가능발전교육 실행을 위한 필요조건이나 충분조건으로서 기능하는지를 밝히는데 목적을 두고 수행하였다. 설문 자료는 2018년 5월부터 2018년 9월까지 온라인 조사와 우편조사를 병행하여 수집하였다. 지속가능발전교육의 실행을 위한 필요조건과 충분조건을 분석하기 위한 방법으로는 퍼지셋 질적비교분석(Fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis: fs/QCA)방법을 적용하였으며, 통계처리도구로 fsQCA 2.5 버전을 활용하였다. 분석 결과는 첫째, 지속가능발전교육에 관한 태도는 지속가능발전교육실행의 필요조건이다. 둘째, 교사가 지속가능발전교육에 관한 긍정적 태도와 효능감이 높고, 교장이 공유적 수업리더십과 교사들이 전문성개발을 강조하는 리더십을 발휘하는 조건에서는 교사들이 지속가능발전교육을 실행하기에 충분하다. 셋째, 교사들이 지속가능발전교육에 관한 긍정적 태도를 가진 조건에서, 교장이 지속가능발전교육에 관한 비전 제시와 공유적 리더십을 발휘하고, 교사들이 전문성을 개발하도록 강조하는 조건에서는 교사들이 지속가능발전교육을 실행하기에 충분하다. 넷째, 지속가능발전교육에 관한 교장의 리더십이 낮은 경우에도, 교사가 지속가능발전교육에 관한 긍정적 태도와 효능감이 높은 조건에서는 교사들이 지속가능발전교육을 실행하기에 충분하다. 연구결과에 근거하여 지속가능발전교육 실행을 위한 제안과 후속 연구방향을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Past research on ESD has used two principal approaches: large-N statistical studies estimating average effect sizes, or case studies presenting description. Notably lacking is the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis of conditions determining ESD implementation. I used fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fs/QCA) to identify pathways leading to ESD implementation. This study was based on a sample of 164 Korean teachers. The results were the following. 1) A positive attitude towards ESD is a necessary condition for ESD. 2) I explored three distinct causal conditions that were sufficient to explain ESD implementation. 3) Causal condition 1 feature positive attitude towards ESD combined with high efficacy and high levels of leadership in the two sub-scales of principal leadership ( shared instructional leadership and developing people ) are sufficient to implement ESD. 4) Causal condition 2 features a positive attitude towards ESD combined with high levels of leadership in the three sub-scales of principal leadership ( shared instructional leadership , setting direction and developing people ) are sufficient to implement ESD. 5) The same outcome is achieved with a positive attitude towards ESD and efficacy, even though it is accompanied by low shared instructional leadership , low levels of setting direction , and low levels of developing people . Based on the research results, I suggested that teacher education institutions need to make efforts to include contents and methods related to ESD in the curriculum. Also, I suggested that teacher training institutions include ESD in their training programs. Through this research, I hope that fs/QCA will be more used for studies to discover causal relations to ESD.
