국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 일개 의과대학생의 연구 역량 강화 교육과정 이수에 따른 연구 역량의 수준과 요구를 조사하고 이를 바탕으로 의과대학의 연구역량 강화 관련 교육 지원을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 있다. 방법 서울 소재 E- 의과대학 의학과에 재학 중이며 의예과 2년의 연구 교육과정에 참여한 의학과 1학년 54명(집단1), 의학과 2년의 연구 교육과정에 참여한 의학과 3학년(집단2) 47명 총 101명을 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 연구 역량 척도를 활용하여 자료를 수집하고 대응표본 t-검정과 중요도-실행도 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 학생 전체 집단에 대한 요구분석 결과, ‘결과 해석’, ‘발표 능력’에 대한 단기적 집중 개선, ‘전공 지식 함양’ ‘실험수행’, ‘표현 능력’에 대한 장기적 점진 개선의 요구가 도출되었다. 둘째, 참여 교육과정에 따른 요구분석 결과, 집단1(의학과 1학년)에서 ‘실험실 안전’, ‘오류판단’, ‘결과 해석’, ‘발표 능력’에 대한 단기적 집중 개선, ‘연구 윤리’, ‘전공 지식 함양’, ‘실험수행’, ‘표현 능력’에 대한 장기적 점진 개선, ‘소통 능력’의 요구가 도출되었다. 집단2(의학과3학년)에서 ‘결과 해석’, ‘발표 능력’에 대한 단기적 집중 개선, ‘전공 지식 함양’, ‘실험설계’, ‘실험수행’, ‘표현 능력’에 대한 장기적 점진 개선의 요구가 도출되었다. 결론 의과대학생들의 연구 역량 강화와 관련된 실증적인 자료를 토대로한 한 개 대학 사례를 제시하고, 학습자 중심의 연구 역량 강화를 증진하는 교육과정 개편의 기초자료를 제공하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the level of research competencies and requirements resulting from the completion of a research competency enhancement education program for individual medical students. Based on this investigation, the study aims to provide foundational data for educational support in strengthening research competencies within medical schools. Methods A survey was conducted targeting a total of 101 participants, including 54 first-year medical students (Group 1) who were enrolled in the E-Medical School, Department of Medicine, and had completed a two-year research education program in the Department of Medical Education, and 47 third-year medical students (Group 2) who had participated in a two-year research education program. Data was collected using a research competencies scale, and paired-sample t-tests and Importance-Performance Analysis were conducted. Results First, the results of the needs analysis for the entire student group revealed the need for short-term focused improvement in “interpretation of results” and “presentation skills,” long-term progressive improvement in “acquisition of specialized knowledge,” “experimental execution,” and “communication skills,” and improved awareness in “research ethics,” “laboratory safety,” “communication abilities,” “experimental design,” and “data organization/ analysis,” as well as the need for sustained maintenance in “topic comprehension” and “error judgment.” Second, the needs analysis based on participation in the educational programs revealed the following results. In Group 1 (first-year medical students), there was a need for short-term focused improvement in “laboratory safety,” “error judgment,” “interpretation of results,” and “presentation skills,” long-term progressive improvement in “research ethics,” “acquisition of specialized knowledge,” “experimental execution,” and “communication skills,” and a demand for “communication skills.” In Group 2 (third-year medical students), there was a need for short-term focused improvement in “interpretation of results” and “presentation skills,” long-term progressive improvement in “acquisition of specialized knowledge,” “experimental design,” “experimental execution,” and “communication skills.” Conclusions This study provided empirical data related to enhancing the research competencies of medical students, serving as foundational information for the revision of education programs that promote learner-centered research competencies.
