문제중심학습이 문헌정보학 전공 학생의 자기주도 학습능력, 문제해결능력, 비판적 사고성향에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 문헌정보학 전공 학생을 대상으로 문제중심학습을 적용하고 자기주도 학습능력, 문제해결능력, 비판적 사고성향의 변화를 파악하기 위한 목적으로 시도되었다. 방법 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 문헌정보학과 전공 교과목인 데이터 큐레이션에 문제중심학습을 적용하였다. 연구학습자는 G도에 소재한 일 대학의 문헌정보학과 학생 34명을 대상으로 하였으며 수업 전과 후에 자기주도 학습능력, 문제해결능력, 비판적 사고성향의 차이를 파악하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 27.0을 이용하여 분석하였고 연구 대상자의 특성은 빈도 및 백분율, 수업의 효과에 대한 검증은 대응표본 t-test를 사용해 분석하였다. 결과 문제중심학습을 적용한 수업 후 자기주도 학습능력(t=2.672, p=.012) 전체와 하위영역 중 학습결과평가(t=2.831, p=.008)와 학습활동의 지속성(t=2.803, p=.008)에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 문제해결능력(t=3.780 p=.001) 전체와 하위영역 중 대안개발(t=2.756, p=.009), 계획 및 실행(t=2.529, p=.016), 수행평가(t=2.948, p=.006)가 향상되었다. 또한 비판적 사고성향(t=2.216, p=.034) 전체와 하위영역 중 신중성(t=2.488, p=.018) 및 체계성(t=2.627, p=.013)에서 유의하게 향상되었다. 결론 이를 통해 본 연구의 문제중심학습을 적용한 수업은 문헌정보학 전공 학생의 자기주도 학습능력, 문제해결능력 및 비판적 사고 향상에 효과적인 교수학습방법임을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of Problem-Based Learning class on self-directed learning ability, problem solving ability and critical thinking disposition in Library and Information Science(LIS) education students Methods In this study, Problem-Based Learning was applied to the ‘Data Curation’ class for LIS education students. The subjects of this study were 34 students of one LIS department. The collected data were analyzed by paired t-test with SPSS 27.0. Results After Problem-Based Learning classes, the subject’s self-directed learning ability(t=2.672, p=.012) and among the sub-domains of self-directed learning ability, evaluation of learning outcome(t=2.831, p=.008), continuity of learning(t=2.803, p=.008) were significantly improved. Problem solving ability(t=3.780 p=.001) and among the sub-domains of problem solving ability, alternative development(t=2.756, p=.009), planning and execution(t=2.529, p=.016), performance assessment(t=2.948, p=.006) were significantly improved. In addition, critical thinking disposition(t=2.216, p=.034) and among the sub-domains of critical thinking disposition, prudence(t=2.488, p=.018) and systematicity(t=2.627, p=.013) were significantly improved. Conclusions This study provides evidence that Problem-Based Learning class is effective teaching and learning method for self-directed learning ability, problem solving ability and critical thinking disposition in LIS education students.
