인성교육자는 학습자를 어떻게 바라보고 교육하는가

국문 초록

목적 인성교육자가 학습자를 어떻게 인식하고 대하는지가 인성교육의 본질적인 목적과 효과에 결정적인 영향을 미친다는 전제하에 본 연구가 진행되었다. 학습자의 인성 함양에 영향을 미치는 핵심적인 요소로 인성교육자들이 인성교육을 하면서 어떠한 가치와 태도, 관점의 변화를 경험하게 되는지, 이러한 변화는 인성교육자에게 어떠한 교육 역량을 필요로 하며 인성교육 현장에서 실제로 어떻게 구현되는지 탐색해 보고자 한다. 방법 이를 위하여 인성교육 전문인력 연수를 받고 인성교육 분야에서 7년 이상 전문가로 활동해온 초중고 교사 5명 1그룹, 민간 인성교육자 5명 1그룹 총 10명을 대상으로 연구자 2인이 두 번의 포커스그룹인터뷰를 실시하여 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 연구결과 인성교육자는 인성교육을 하면서 학습자의 내면의 힘을 신뢰하고 학습자를 중심에 두는 학습자 중심 태도를 체득하게 되었으며, 학습현장에서 사랑하고 배우며 성장하는 존재로서 학습자를 경험하게 되었다. 이러한 인식과 태도의 변화는 학습자의 자기 발견과 표현을 촉진하는 등 인성교육자의 학습역량을 변화시키며 인성교육 현장에서 학습자를 진심으로 환대하는 모습으로 표현되고 있었다. 결론 본 연구를 통해 인성교육자가 인성교육을 하면서 학습자에 대해 가지는 가치와 태도 그리고 관점 등에 주목해 봄으로서 인성교육자가 가진 철학이 실제로 인성교육자 자신의 교육 역량을 변화시키며 인성교육 현장에 표출되고 있음을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study is conducted under the premise that character educators are the main agents of character education and a key factor in determining the quality of character education. In other words, how character educators perceive and treat learners has a decisive influence on the ultimate goal and result of character education. The purpose of this study is to explore what kind of values, attitudes, and perspectives character educators experienced during character education, and how these changes of character educators are actually implemented in the field of character education. Methods Focus group interviews were conducted twice with 10 people who were teachers and private character educators. They had received professional training for character education and have been working as experts in the field of character education for more than 7 years. Results The result of the study found that by carrying out the session the character educator started to convince the learner s inner strength and recognized them as a being who deserves love, education and growth. These changes in educators perceptions and attitudes facilitated learners to develop self-discovery and self-expression abilities. Also, character educators began to show genuine hospitality to learners through the character education sessions. Conclusions By focusing on the attitudes and values of character educators, this study confirmed that the philosophy of character educators actually changes their own educational capabilities, which is expressed through character education course.
