국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 의과대학생들의 완벽주의, 의과대학 스트레스, 사회적지지, 학업 지연행동 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 완벽주의와 학업지연행동 간의 관계를 의과대학 스트레스가 매개하는지 살펴보고, 완벽주의와 학업지연행동 간의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 조절효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 서울 소재 의과대학생 156명을 대상으로 자기지향완벽주의, 사회부과완벽주의, 의과대학 스트레스, 사회적지지, 학업지연행동을 측정하기 위한 검사를 실시하였다. 각 변인들 간의 상관관계를 분석하고, 다중 회귀분석을 통하여 자기지향완벽주의, 사회부과완벽주의와 학업지연행동 간의 관계를 의과대학 스트레스가 매개하는지 분석하였으며, 사회적 지지가 자기지향완벽주의와 학업지연행동 간의 관계를 조절하는지 분석하였다. 결과 분석 결과, 의과대학생의 자기지향완벽주의는 학업지연행동과 부적 상관을 나타내었다. 사회부과완벽주의는 의과대학 스트레스와 정적 상관을, 사회적 지지와 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 의과대학 스트레스는 학업지연행동과 정적 상관을, 사회적 지지와 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 의과대학 스트레스는 자기지향완벽주의와 학업지연행동 간의 관계를 매개하지 않는 것으로 나타났으나, 사회부과완벽주의와 학업지연행동간의 관계를 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 지지는 자기지향완벽주의와 학업지연행동간의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 스스로 완벽하고자 하는 성향이 강한 의과대학생들은 학업 지연행동을 적게 하는 경향이 있으며, 이와 달리 사회적으로 부여되는 완벽주의 경향성이 있는 경우에는 스트레스가 높아질 때, 지연행동이 증가할 수 있어 스트레스를 관리하는 것이 중요하다. 또한 자기지향완벽주의 경향이 있는 학생들도 사회적 지지를 더 많이 얻을수록 학업지연행동을 더 적게 하게 되므로 사회적 관계망을 통한 정서적 지지와 격려가 중요하다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to examine the relationships of multidimensional perfectionism, medical school stress, social support, and academic procrastination among medical students. And we investigate the mediating effects of medical school stress on the relationship between multidimensional perfectionism and academic procrastination. Also, we examined the moderating effect of social support on the relationship between self-oriented perfectionism and academic procrastination. Methods Data was collected from 156 who enrolled college of medicine, Seoul, using survey from February to March of 2019. To measure multidimensional perfectionism, social support, medical school stress, and academic procrastination, we used the multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, The medical school stress scale, The Personal Resource Questionnaire, and Aitken Procrastination Inventory. For correlational analysis, we used pearson’s correlation coefficient. And the mediating effects of medical school stress and the moderating effect of social support on the relationship between self-oriented perfectionism, socially-prescribed perfectionism, and academic procrastination was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Results The results showed self-oriented perfectionism among medical students was negatively correlated with academic procrastination. And we found no relations between socially-prescribed perfectionism with academic procrastination. Also, we found socially-prescribed perfectionism was positively correlated with medical school stress, negatively correlated with social support. We found medical school stress was positively correlated with academic procrastination, negatively correlated with social support. And also, we found a negative correlation between social support and academic procrastination. Moreover, we found medical school stress fully mediated socially-prescribe perfectionism and academic procrastination, social support moderated self-oriented perfectionism and academic procrastination. Conclusions Medical students who have self-oriented perfectionistic tendencies are not likely to procrastinate. However, Students who have socially-prescribed perfectionism are tend to academic procrastinate when they felt stress. And also, the effect of self-oriented perfectionism on academic procrastination differed according to social support level. More social support buffered the relationship between self-oriented perfectionism and academic procrastination.
