국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 학습자의 관점에서 경쟁기반 학업에 수반하여 나타나는 심리적인 경험을 측정하는 척도를 개발하고, 초기 타당도 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 방법 생태학적 발달이론과 사전연구에 기초하여 학생들의 심리적 경험을 측정하는 문항 66개를 생성하였다. 지방 광역시에 소재하는 두 고등학교에 재학 중인 학생들을 대상으로 두 번의 설문조사를 실시하였다. 첫 번째 조사에 380명이(2020년도), 두 번째 조사에 291명이 참여하여(2021년도), 총 671명이 참여하였다. 요인구조를 알아보기 위해 탐색적 및 확인적 요인분석을 수행하였다. 결과 탐색적 요인분석 결과에 따라 33개의 문항이 선택되었으며, 수정된 10 요인 모델이 최종 모델로 채택되었다. 이후 관련 변인인 능력기반 사회비교 경향성, 주관적 안녕감, 친구 관계와의 상관관계를 통해 공인타당도를 확인하였다. 더하여 도출된 각 요인은 양호한 문항 내적일치도를 보였다. 결론 최종 모델에 포함된 10 요인은 [자기효능감], [불편한 비교와 경쟁], [노력이 반영되지 않는 성적], [과도한 긴장감], [부정적 자아상], [자기집중], [진로에 집중함], [특혜와 차별], [불합리한 상대평가], [상대평가의 긍정성]을 포함한다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구가 개발한 척도의 의의와 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 기술하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of the current study was to develop a scale that measures various psychological experiences of competition-based learning among high school students and to provide the initial validity of the scale. Adopting the ecological development theory and previous studies, the current study conceptualized and defined psychological experiences of competition-based learning. Methods Sixty six items were generated based on the previous study. The current study conducted surveys twice in which 671 high school students participated (380 from the first survey and 291 from the second survey). Results The current study conducted exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses to identify the factor structures, which resulted in the selection of 33 items and the modified 10-factor model as the final model. Further, concurrent validity was tested by examining the relationships with relevant variables (i.e., ability-based learning social comparison tendency, subjective well-being, and friendship). Internal consistency was tested for sub-scale items and total items. Conclusions The 10 factors included in the final model are as follows: competition-based learning self-efficacy, distressful comparison and competition, grades not reflecting effort, excessive tension, negative self-image, self-focus, concentration on career path, privilege and discrimination, negative aspects of relative evaluation, and positive aspects of relative evaluation. Three factors address positive psychological experiences, four factors reflect negative psychological experiences, and three factors show positive and negative perceptions for relative evaluations. The current study discussed implications and suggestions for future research.
