간호대학신입생의 우울증인식, 전문적 도움추구 태도, 전문적 도움추구 의도에 관한 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 간호대학신입생의 우울증인식과 전문적 도움추구 태도, 전문적 도움추구 의도를 파악하여 향후 우울증 예방과 관리를 위한 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공하고자한다. 방법 연구대상은 D시 소재 대학 간호학과 1학년 252명이며 구조화된 설문지를 사용하여 2020년 5월 3일부터 6월 3일까지 자료를 수집하였다. 자료처리는 SPSS 프로그램을 활용하였으며 기술통계, 빈도분석, 독립표본 t-test, one-way ANOVA로 분석하였고 Scheffe’ test로 사후 검정하였다. 결과 간호대학신입생의 우울증인식은 43.7%, 전문적 도움추구 태도는 2.97점, 전문적 도움추구 의도는 3.93점으로 나타났다. 우울증인식 유무에 따라 두 그룹으로 나누어 비교한 결과 우울증인식이 있는 그룹과 그렇지 않은 그룹간에 전문적 도움추구 태도의 하위척도 중 전문가도움 필요성인식(t= 2.04, p= .043)에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 또한 전문적 도움추구 의도 하위척도 중 행동문제(약물, 수면, 음주, 성)(t= 2.12, p= .033)에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 결론 간호대학신입생을 대상으로 체계적인 정신건강교육을 제공함으로써 우울을 비롯한 정신건강 관리 수준을 높일 수 있을 것이다. 또한 우울증 관리를 위한 체계적이고 다양한 교육방법을 적용하여 전문적 도움추구에 대한 태도 및 의도를 개선함으로써 우울인식을 높일 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for developing programs for the prevention and management of depression in the future by identifying depression perceptions, professional help seeking attitudes, and professional help intentions of nursing college freshmen. Methods The subjects of this study were 252 first-year nursing students at a university located in D city, and data were collected from May 3 to June 3, 2020 using a structured questionnaire. For data processing, the SPSS program was used. Descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, independent sample t-test, and one-way ANOVA were used for analysis, and post-test was performed with Scheffe s test. Results As a result of the study, 43.7% of freshmen in nursing college had a perception of depression, a professional help seeking attitude with 2.97 points, and a professional help seeking intention with 3.93 points. As a result of comparing the two groups according to their perception of depression, there were significant differences in behavioral problems (drugs, sleep, drinking, sex) among the subscales of the professional help seeking attitude and the recognition of the need for professional help among the subscales of the professional help seeking intention. Conclusions By providing systematic mental health education for new nursing students, it will be possible to raise the level of mental health management including depression. In addition, by applying systematic and diverse educational methods for depression management, it is expected to increase the perception of depression by improving the attitude and intention to seek professional help.
