대학 글쓰기에서의 수필 쓰기 교육의 방향성

국문 초록

이 연구는 대학 글쓰기에서의 수필 쓰기 교육의 방향성을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 수필이 국문학과 대학 글쓰기 분야에서 차지하는 위치가 어떠한지를 살펴보았다. 그런 다음, 수필의 장르적 특성을 고려한수필 쓰기 교육 방안을 제시해 보았다. 현재, 국내 출판문화계의 상황을 고려해 본다면, 수필이 차지하는 비중은 결코 적지 않다. 그럼에도 불구하고그동안 국문학 분야에서의 수필에 대한 학술적 연구는 많이 이루어지지 못했다. 이로 인해, 대학 글쓰기 교육에서수필 쓰기가 많이 이루어지고 있지만, 수필의 장르적 특성을 고려한 접근보다는 성찰을 소재로 한 주제적 접근으로만 다루어지는 경우가 많다. 이에 이 연구에서는 대학 글쓰기 교육 안에서 수필의 특성을 고려한 수필 쓰기 교육 방안으로 세 가지를 제시했다. 첫째, 좋은 수필에 대한 깊이 있는 읽기와 감상이 이루어지도록 해야 한다. 둘째, 대화주의적 접근 방식을통해 수필로 쓸 만한 의미 있는 내용을 발견해 보도록 해야 한다. 셋째, 평생필자로서의 성장을 위해 자신의 글을타인과 공유해 볼 수 있는 기회를 갖도록 해야 한다. 이 연구는 수필의 특성을 고려한 수필 쓰기 교육 방향성을제안했다는 점에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to present the direction of essay writing education in college writing. For this purpose, the position of the essay in the field of Korean literature and college writingwas investigated. Then, this study tried to present an essay writing education plan consideringthe genre characteristics of the essay. Considering the current situation in Korea’s publishing culture, the proportion of essays is notsmall. Nevertheless, there have not been many academic studies on essays in the field of Koreanliterature. For this reason, although a lot of essay writing is done in college writing education, it isoften dealt with only as a thematic approach based on reflection rather than an approachconsidering the genre characteristics of essays. Therefore, in this study, three essay writing education methods were proposed in considerationof the characteristics of essay writing in college writing education. First, in-depth reading andappreciation of good essays should be made. Second, a dialogical approach should be used tofind meaningful content to write in essays. Third, the writer should have the opportunity to shareessay with others in order to grow as a lifelong writer. The significance of this study can befound in that it proposed the direction of essay writing education considering the characteristicsof essays.
