국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 문학적 상상력으로 이상한 나라의 앨리스 를 바라보고 수학의 원리가 작용하는 지점을 발견하여 수학적 상상력으로 동화에 나타난 소설적 시공간을 수학으로 분석하고 현실 세계의 언어로 스토리텔링 하는 것이다. 현실적으로 이해하기 어려운 일들이 펼쳐지는 환상세계 인물의 갈등에 대해 연구자는 수학 도구를 활용하고 수학적 상상력을 발현하여 현실의 논리로 풀어낼 것이다. 작가는 상상의 세계에서 벌어지는 이상한 일들을 현실적 문제로 환원시키기 위해 이야기를 만든다. 이야기에서공간은 단순히 작동되는 부가장치가 아니라 작가의 공간인식에 따라 다양하게 해석 가능한 형식이다. 이상한 나라의 앨리스 의 허구세계는 현실적으로 이해하기 어려운 일들이 펼쳐지고 논리적 모순이 일어나는 장소라서 현실세계의 수학적 지식으로 판단하기 어렵다. 독자가 문학적 상상력을 기반으로 하여 수학 요소를 함의한 공간의 의미와 서사를 허수나 무한 등의 개념에 연계하여 수학적 상상력으로 갈등을 소환한다면 현실의 관점으로 허구세계를 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 수학적 상상력으로 판타지 동화에 나타난 인물 갈등과 시공간을 수학의 언어로 구체화할 수 있을 때, 독자는 허구세계의 시공간 안에서 벌어지는 갈등을 현실 세계의 논리로 이해하고 문학 작품을더욱 흥미롭게 바라볼 수 있을 것이다. 과학 문명의 발달로 다양한 문화콘텐츠가 선보이는 현대에는 문학에 대한 독자의 요구가 달라지고 있다. 독자는 고전 작품의 경향을 선호하기보단 좀 더 환상적인 소재와 흥미 위주의 스토리 전개를 원하는 실정이다. 시대의요구에 따라 작가는 문학에 수학 상상력을 불러 일으킬만한 작품의 소재를 선택하고 좀 더 논리적으로 창작에 임해야 할 것이다. 남은 문제는 작가 스스로 독자의 상상력과 창의력 신장을 위해 작품 소재의 선택과 구성 방법에대해 고민하는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this thesis is to look at ‘Alice in Wonderland’ with literary imagination, find thepoint where the principles of mathematics work, and analyze the fictional space and time in fairytales with mathematical imagination and storytelling in the language of the real world. The researcherwill use mathematical tools and express mathematical imagination to solve the conflicts of characters ina fantasy world where things that are difficult to understand in reality are solved with real logic. The artist creates stories to reduce strange things happening in the imaginary world to real problems. In the story, space is not simply an operating accessory, but a form that can be interpreted in variousways according to the artist’s spatial perception. The fictional world of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ is aplace where things that are difficult to understand in reality unfold and logical contradictions occur, soit is difficult to judge with mathematical knowledge of the real world. Based on literary imagination,the reader will be able to understand the fictional world from the point of view of reality if the meaningand narrative of space implied by mathematical elements are linked to concepts such as imaginary numbersand infinity to summon conflicts with mathematical imagination. When the conflict between charactersand time and space in a fantasy fairy tale can be materialized in the language of mathematics throughmathematical imagination, the reader will be able to understand the conflict in the time and space ofthe fictional world as the logic of the real world and look at literary works more interestingly. Readers’ demands for literature are changing in the modern age, where various cultural contents arepresented with the development of scientific civilization. Rather than prefer the trend of classic works,readers want more fantastic material and interesting story development. According to the demands ofthe times, the author will have to select the material of the work that will arouse the mathematicalimagination in literature and work on the creation more logically. The remaining problem is that theauthor himself thinks about how to select and compose the material of the work in order to enhancethe imagination and creativity of the reader.
