핵심역량 수행활동 기반 교양영어 수업의 효과성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 2021학년도 1학기에 H대학교에서 역량 수행활동 중심의 교양영어 수업에 참여한 학습자들의 역량 성취도 및 만족도를 조사하고 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여, 해당 교과목 수업참여자 132명을 대상으로 사전-사후 핵심역량 진단검사 및 만족도 설문자료를 수집하였고, 최종적으로 124명의 역량 성취도 및 만족도 결과를확인하였다. 역량 성취도 결과는 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 사용하여 대응표본 t-검증을 통해 분석하였고, 만족도 결과는 빈도와 비율을 활용한 기술통계를 실시하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 해당 교양영어 교과목의 핵심역량인 협업역량을 진단하는 모든 10개 문항에서 역량의 향상을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이는 t-검증 결과 각 문항별 0.1% 수준의 통계적으로도 유의미한 결과였다. 또한 본 연구에 참여한 학습자들의 총 75%에 해당하는 93명이 해당 역량수행활동에 높은 만족도를 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 핵심역량 수행활동을 중심으로 운영된 교양영어 수업을 통해학습자들의 역량이 증진되었음을 보여줌으로써 역량 기반으로 기획, 설계, 운영된 교양 교과목의 효과성을 입증하는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the competency achievement and satisfaction of learners who participated in the college English class operated based on core competency activities at H university in the first semester of 2021 school year. To this end, preand post-core competency diagnostic tests and satisfaction questionnaire data were collected from 132 class participants in the subject, and finally, the competency achievement and satisfaction results of 124 students were confirmed. Competency achievement results were analyzed through matched-sample t-test using the SPSS 23.0 program, and satisfaction results were analyzed by conducting descriptive statistics using frequency and ratio. As a result of the analysis, it was possible to confirm the improvement of competency in all 10 questions diagnosing the teamwork competency, which is the core competency of this subject, and this was a statistically significant result of 0.1% for each question as a result of the t-test. In addition, 93 students, 75% of the learners who participated in the study, showed high satisfaction with the core competency performance activities. The results of this study demonstrate the effectiveness of the competencybased general education curriculum by showing that learners competency has been enhanced through college English classes which are run centered on the core competency performance activities.
