칠언율시의 가창 유형별 특징에 관한 연구

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 칠언율시를 가락에 얹어 부르는 가창 유형에서 나타나는 음악적 특징을 살펴보고, 각 유형 간의특징을 비교하였다. 연구를 통해서 나타난 칠언율시의 가창 유형별 특징은 다음과 같다. 독서성과 시창은 박의 구성이나 사설 붙임에서 시형과 음악적 구조가 거의 일치하는 반면, 시조와 가곡은 시형과는 일치하지 않는 음악적구조가 나타났다. 따라서, 독서성과 시창은 음악보다는 시의 음미에 더 치중되어 있으며, 시조와 가곡은 사설보다는 음악 향유에 더 치중된 가창 유형임을 확인할 수 있었다. 독서성-시창-시조-가곡의 순으로 박의 단위가 커지고, 빠르기가 대체로 느려지며, 음역이 넓어지는 경향이 나타났다. 이로써 독서성-시창-시조-가곡 순으로 음악적 전문성이 강해지고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 칠언율시를 가사로 하는 독서성, 시창, 시조, 가곡에서는 공통으로 유사한 음 간격을 가진 5음이 사용되고 있었다. 따라서, 칠언율시를 노래하는 4가지 가창 유형의 음악이 모두 공통된 음악적 바탕을 지님을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 연구를 통하여 한시의 전통적인 가창 방식 연구에 보탬이 되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

In this study, the musical characteristics appearing in the types of singing in which Chil-eonyulsi[ : seven word poem] is sung with the melodies were investigated, and the characteristics between each type were compared. The “characteristics of each type of singing” of Chil-eon-yulsi revealed through this study are as follows. Dokseoseong (which is the sound, or tone in reading book) and Sichang (which literally means ‘poem singing’) have almost identical poetry and musical structure in the composition or editorial attachment of the beat, whereas Sijo and Gagok showed a musical structure that did not match the poetry type. Therefore, it could be confirmed that Dokseoseong and Sichang were more focused on the taste of poetry than music, and Sijo and Gagok were more focused on the enjoyment of music. In the order of Dokseoseong-Sichang-Sijo-Gagok, the beat unit increased, the tempo generally slowed down, and the sound range tended to expand. As a result, it was confirmed that the musical expertise is getting stronger in the order of Dokseoseong, Sichang, Sijo, Gagok. In Dokseoseong, Sichang, Sijo, and Gagok, which use Chil-eon-yulsi as lyrics, five notes with similar intervals were used in common. Therefore, it could be confirmed that the music of the four types of singing that sings Chil-Eon-Yulsi all have the same musical background. It is expected that this study will be helpful in the study of the traditional singing method of Chinese poetry.
