국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 가장 강력하게 이전 시대와의 결별을 선언했던 1990년의 사운드의 미학적 분석에서부터 시작한다. 그래서 본고는 90년대의 사운드와 그 미학적 정체성을 파악하기 위해 조금 우회적인 접근법을 채택하려는것이다. 그것은 바로 2010년대 UV가 시도한 역설적 결과물들과 궤를 같이한다. UV는 작품 속에서 90년대 대상에대하여 신랄하고 유쾌한 패러디, 혹은 존경의 의미를 담아 오마주를 시도하고 있다. 사운드와 연계된 텍스트, 그속에 내포된 음악적 어법(idiom), 사운드 제작기술의 맥락, 기호학적 분석 등을 통해 그들이 다시 찾고자 하던 90 년대에 대한 심층적 구조들을 본 연구를 통해 수면 위에 올려놓기를 요청하는 것이다. 그리하여 그들이 현재의 사운드 기술력으로 재현한 90년대에 대한 독특한 리얼리즘적 표현양식은 상당히 이색적임을 확인할 수 있다. UV에의해 당대 90년대의 신개념 음악 문화의 성분들과 기술, 그리고 그것을 재생산하기 시작한 클리셰들을 적나라하게재현되는데, 그 후경(後景)속에서 내재된 의도들과 사운드 이미지들을 통해 우리 모두의 경험들, 90년대를 유력하게 장식했던 X세대의 형 누나들을 성공적으로 호출하였다. 부가적으로 UV는 최초의 (가수에게 분리된) 순수주의춤, 자의식을 지닌 진지한 음악인, 우상들, 지나간 추억들과 그리움과 세월들, 기억의 왜곡으로 충만했던 이미지, 허세와 진실의 혼종이라는 다채로운 테마를 선보여준다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study aims to start the aesthetic analysis of sound in 1990, which most strongly declared a separation from the previous era. In this context, this paper tries to adopt a slightly roundabout approach to look into the sounds in the 90s and their aesthetic identity. This approach matches the direction where UV has tried to make paradoxical outcomes in 2010. UV tried Hommage in their work with respects or astringent and pleasant parodies for their objects reflecting the 90’s. In other word, they strived to put the in-depth structures of the 90’s that they were looking for back on the surface by texts associated with sounds, social idiom embedded in the texts, context of sound production technique and semiotic analysis. These also act as friendly emotions of memories and longings to the public. Therefore, this paper can also discuss the unique ways of realism in the 90’s that they reproduce with current sound technology. In addition, it is expected that this paper can analyze the intentions and symbolism inherent in the Hintergrund, in terms of plainly reproducing the cliche of the components and technique of the new concept of the music culture in the 90’s reproduced by UV. All of our experiences, successfully called Generation X s older sisters, and presented a variety of themes: the first pureist dance, self-conscious serious musician, idols, past memories, yearning and years, fictional images, bluffing and a mixture of truth.
