충동성과 감각추구성향이 청소년의 도박행동에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 도박중독의 주된 위험요인으로 알려진 충동성 및 감각추구성향과 청소년의 도박행동과의 관계에서 비합리적 도박신념의 매개효과를 검증하는데 있다. 이를 위해 한국도박문제관리센터(2017)의 ‘도박문제 보호요인과 위험요인에 따른 청소년 도박예방 모델 개발’에서 사용한 원 데이터를 활용하였으며, 중⋅고등학교에 재학 중인 청소년 1,474명의 자료가 최종분석에 사용되었다. 분석 결과, 충동성과 감각추구성향 모두 비합리적 도박신념(자기과신⋅비논리적 추론과 기술 과대평가적 추론)을 매개로 도박행동에 간접적으로 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나, 중⋅고등학교 재학 청소년의 도박행동에 있어 성격과 문제행동 사이에서 인지가 완전매개역할을 한다고 주장하는 획득준비성 모델의 타당함이 지지되었다. 본 연구 결과는 청소년의 도박행동을 좀 더 깊게 이해하는 것을 돕고, 청소년 도박문제 예방을 위한 개입 전략의 근거로써 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of impulsivity and sensation seeking on gambling behaviors of adolescents and to verify mediating effects of irrational gambling beliefs on those relationships. In order to achieve this purpose, the present study used secondary data obtained from the Korea Center on Gambling Problems, and the sample of the present study consisted of 1,474 middle- and high-school students aged 13-18. Study results demonstrate that both impulsivity and sensation seeking indirectly affect gambling behaviors via irrational gambling beliefs (overconfidence-illogical inference and skill-overestimation inference). The results support the validity of the Acquired Preparedness model, which implies that cognition has a full mediation effect on the relationship between personality and problem behavior, such as gambling behaviors among middle- and high-school students. This study helps us understand adolescent gambling behaviors more deeply, and provides basic information for interventions to prevent gambling behaviors of adolescent.
