대학생의 국가근로장학생 경험에 관한 질적 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생의 국가근로장학생 경험을 탐색하기 위한 질적 사례 연구이다. 이를 위해 2019년 9월부터 2020년 2월까지 약 6개월간 수도권에 위치한 A대학교에서 국가근로장학을 수행하고 있는 대학생들을 대상으로 참여관찰, 심층면담, 관련 문서를 수집해 그 내용을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 대학생의 국가근로장학생 경험은 ‘이동시간 무(無)’, ‘주말이 보장된 삶’, ‘더 일하고 싶지만’, ‘형식적인 교육’, ‘궁금한 건 동료에게’, ‘기준 없이 떠넘겨지는 일’, ‘모호한 선발 기준’, ‘저소득층이 하는 일이라는 편견’ 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과에 따라 국가근로장학제도의 시행에 있어서 30분 단위의 근로 허용, 학기 중 주당 20시간 근로제한 폐지 등 국가근로장학제도의 주체인 대학생들의 목소리를 적극적으로 듣고 반영해야 한다. 또한 운영인력지원 등을 통해 대학의 책무성을 강화하고, 국가장학제도에 대한 교육을 개선해야 하며, 소득 및 국가근로장학금 지급 기준을 재조정하여 좀 더 많은 저소득층의 대학생들이 국가근로장학 혜택을 누릴 수 있는 방안을 마련해야 한다

영문 초록

This study is a qualitative case study for exploring college students experiences of national working scholarship students. To this end, the contents of the survey were analyzed by collecting participation observations, in-depth interviews, and related documents from college students who were conducting national working scholarships at A College located in the Seoul metropolitan area for about six months from September 2019 to February 2020. As a result, college students experience as a national working scholarship students were found to be no travel time, life with guaranteed weekends, want to work more, formal education, Curious about is to colleagues, Tasks being passed on without proper standards, a vague selection criterion, and a prejudice that the low-income bracket does. Based on the results of these studies, the government should actively listen to and reflect the voices of college students who are the main players of the national working scholarship system, such as allowing 30 minutes of work and abolishing the 20-hour work week during the semester. In addition, the government should strengthen the responsibilities of universities, improve education on the national working scholarship system, and readjust the standards for income and national working scholarship payments so that more low-income college students can enjoy the benefits of the national working scholarship.
