국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학생의 또래관계 네트워크의 중심성(외향 연결중심성, 내향 연결중심성, 매개중심성 및 위세중심성)의 상, 하 집단에 따른 학업적 및 사회적 적응의 차이를 살펴보고, 사회적 성취목표와 또래관계 네트워크 중심성과의 관계를 탐색하는데 목적이 있었다. 초등학생 345명(남 188명, 여 157명) 총 5개 학교, 16학급을 대상으로 연구한 결과 첫째, 또래관계 네트워크의 중심성 중 내향 연결중심성이 높은 집단은 낮은 집단보다 학업적 유능감, 학업성취도, 사회적 유능감 및 또래관계 질이 유의미하게 높았다. 다음으로 매개중심성 및 위세중심성이 높은 집단은 낮은 집단보다 사회적 유능감 및 또래관계 질이 유의미하게 높았다. 그러나 학업적 유능감과 학업성취도에는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 사회적 성취목표와 또래관계 네트워크 중심성의 관계를 살펴보았을 때 사회적 숙달목표는 내향 연결중심성에 정적인 영향을 주었으며, 사회적 수행회피목표는 내향 연결중심성에 부적인 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 사회적 인정중심 수행접근목표는 위세중심성을 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 이론적 함의와 후속연구에 대한 제언이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in academic and social adaptations according to the upper and lower groups of elementary school students peer-relationship networks centrality(out-degree and in-degree centrality, betweenness centrality, eigenvector centrality), and to explore the relationship between social achievement goals and peer-relations network centrality. According to a study conducted on a total of five schools and 16 classes of elementary school students (188 boys and 157 girls), the first group with a higher in-degree centrality had a significantly higher level of academic competence, academic achievement, social competence and peer relationships quality than the lower group. Next, groups with higher betweenness and eigenvector centrality had a significantly higher sense of social competence and quality of peer relationships quality than those with lower levels. However, there was no significant difference between academic competence and academic achievement. Second, when looking at the relationship between social achievement goals and peer-relationship network centrality, social mastery goals had a positive effect on in-degree centrality, while social performance-avoidance goals had a negative effect on in-degree centrality. In addition, the social approval-focused performance approach goal was found to have a positive influence on the eigenvector centrality. Based on these findings, the theoretical implications and suggestions for follow-up studies were discussed.
