국문 초록

영유아의 성공적인 다문화 교육을 위해서는 보육교사의 다문화 교육이 선행되어야 하며 보육교사를 위한 다문화 교육은 지식을 전달하기 위한 집단 교육방식으로 진행하는 일회성의 획일적인 교육보다는 다문화 인식의 변화, 즉, 다문화 수용성 향 상을 위한 다문화 교육프로그램이 필요하다. 이러한 필요성에 따라 본 연구는 영유아의 첫 학교인 어린이집의 보육교사들에게 학습공동체 이론의 소그룹 형식의 다문화 교육을 통해 다문화 수용성의 경험과정을 살펴보고자 하였다. 보육교사들을 위한 다문화교육은 2018년 8월에서 9월에 거쳐 5회기에 걸쳐 이루어졌다. 연구에 참여한 보육교사들이 프로그램의 시행과정을 통해 다른 문화에 대한 인정과 수용의 정도에 있어서 어떠한 경험을 하게 되는지, 그리고 이러한 경험과정은 어떠한 의미가 있는 지를 해석하고자 질적 연구 방법을 활용하였다. 프로그램에 참여함으로써 보육교사들은 첫째 다문화에 대한 개념을 알게 되었고, 다문화를 이해할 수 있었다. 둘째, 본인이 가지고 있던 다문화에 대한 거부, 회피 정서에 관하여 인식할 수 있었으며, 이 를 통해, 거부, 회피 정서의 긍정적인 변화를 경험하였다. 나아가, 다문화가정의 부모와의 적극적인 소통 자세가 필요함에 대해 인식을 할 수 있었다고 보고하였다.

영문 초록

For successful multicultural education of early childhood children, multicultural education of child care teachers should be preceded. Moreover, multicultural education for childcare teachers needs multicultural education programs to improve their multicultural awareness, that is multicultural acceptance, rather than one-time uniform education that is conducted as a group education method to convey knowledge. Based on this, this study aims to examine the process of experience of child care teachers’ multicultural acceptance through the small - group multicultural education based on the learning community theory. The qualitative research method was used to understand what kind of experience the teachers who participated in the study had in the degree of recognition and acceptance of other cultures through implementing the program. By participating in the program, firstly, child care teachers became aware of the concept of multiculturalism and understood multiculturalism. Secondly, child care teachers were able to recognize their refusal, or avoiding multiculturalism. In addition, child care teachers reported that they were able to recognize the necessity of active communication with parents from multicultural families.
