유아의 까다로운 식습관과 어머니의 종합적 식사지도와의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아의 까다로운 식습관과 어머니의 종합적 식사지도와의 관계를 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 서울 및 경기도 지역에 위치한 어린이집 및 유치원에 재원 중인 만 3세∼만 5세 유아를 둔 어머니 387명이었고, 어머니의 종합적 식사 지도와 까다로운 식습관은 설문조사로 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS Statistics version 25.0을 이용하여 빈도와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차를 산출하였고, 독립표본 t-test, 공분산분석, 카이검증, 상관분석 및 로지스틱회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결 과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 종합적 식사지도는 모니터링을 제외한 하위항목에서 소량섭취, 새식품거부, 특정식품군거부의 집단 간 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 어머니의 종합적 식사지도와 유아의 까다로운 식습관과 정적, 부적 상관관계가 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 종합적 식사지도 중 체중조절을 위한 섭취제한, 감정조절과 음식보상, 음식강요가 유아의 까다로운 식습관 형성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해 까다로운 식습관을 가진 유아의 특성을 파악하고 부모의 올바른 식 습관 지도방법에 대한 시사점을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to identify the association between children’s picky eating behaviors and comprehensive feeding practices by mothers. In this study, picky eating behaviors were defined as containing three constructs of ‘eating a small amount(ES)’, neophobic behavior(NB)’, ‘refusal of specific food groups(RF)’. The participants were 378 mothers of preschool children aged 3∼5 attending daycare centers and kindergartens in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do province. A survey was conducted on comprehensive feeding practices by mothers and picky eating behaviors of preschool children. From the collected data, frequency, mean, and standard deviation were calculated using SPSS Statistics version 25.0, and the data were analyzed with independent t-test, ANCOVA, chi-squared test, pearson correlation analysis, and logistic regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, comprehensive feeding practices by mothers showed differences between groups in subcategories other than monitoring, including ES, NB, and RF. Second, a negative correlation was observed between comprehensive feeding practices by mothers and picky eating behaviors of preschool children. Third, among comprehensive feeding practices by mothers, it was revealed that food intake restriction for weight control, emotional regulation and food as reward, and pressure to consume more food affected the development of picky eating behaviors in preschool children. The results of this study contributed to identifying the characteristics of preschool children with picky eating behaviors and suggested implications regarding desirable methods of dietary education by parents.
