유아의 놀이를 통한 교육과정 운영에 대한 실행연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아의 놀이를 통한 교육과정 운영방안을 모색하고 실행하여 이에 대한 교사의 경험을 살펴보고자 경기도의 A초등학교병설유치원 만 5세 유아 26명 및 담임 교사를 대상으로 실행연구를 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아의 놀이와 국가수준 교육과정이 이어질 수 있도록 교육을 계획하고, 유아의 놀이를 지원한 후 체계적·일상적으로 교육과정 운영 및 유아 평가를 실시한 결과, 교사가 계획한 교육과 별개로 유아가 전개한 놀이에서도 교육과정의 성취가 일어남을 확인할 수 있었고 유아의 놀이 속에 담겨있는 교육적 의미를 발견할 수 있었다. 둘째, 유아의 놀이를 통한 교육과정 운영 결과, 교사는 유아의 능력을 재인식하는 과정에서 유아에 대한 깊이 있는 이해를 통하여 유아와의 긍정적 관계를 형성할 수 있었다. 또한 반성적 사고를 바탕으로 교육과정 운영을 개선할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 유아의 놀이를 통한 교육과정 운영방안을 모색하기 위하여 교육과정 계획 및 실행, 평가 등 각 측면에서 교육과정 운영의 실제를 살펴보았다는 것에 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study set out to explore and implement a management plan for a play-based curriculum for young children and examine teachers reactions to it. For this purpose, the investigator applied a play-based curriculum to 26 five-year-olds at a kindergarten attached to A Elementary School in Gyeonggi Province, as well as their homeroom teacher who was the investigator herself. The outcome was analyzed, and the analysis results led to the following findings: first, the curriculum was managed in a systematic and daily manner along with the evaluation of young children after planning for education to connect children s play to the national-level curriculum and support their play. The outcome shows that the achievements of the curriculum happened even in the play developed by young children separate from the education planned by the teacher. Educational meanings were also found in their play. Secondly, the study examined the teacher s reactions to the management of the curriculum based on young children s play and found that she was able to form positive relationships with young children, including reliable relations and increased intimacy, through her profound understanding of young children in the process of re-perceiving their abilities and possibilities. She was also able to improve managing the curriculum by observing the field of education, continuing to assess its implementation, and doing reflective thinking based on records. In the process of contemplating over the management of a curriculum based on young children s play and practicing it, the teacher was able to explore the nature of early childhood education. The study is significant in that it examined the reality of curriculum management in each aspect including curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation to search for a plan to run a curriculum based on young children s play.
