테크놀로지를 활용한 영어교육연구의 통시적 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 영어 교육에서 테크놀로지가 활용되고 있는 방법과 그 변천을 모색하기 위하여 분석 준거에 따라 대상 논문들을 분석해 보고 앞으로 테크놀로지를 활용한 영어교육의 방향을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 대상 논문은 1996년부터 2018년도까지 발표된 총 80편의 학술지 논문을 대상으로 선정하였고 연구시기, 방법, 주제에 따라 분류했으며 테크놀로지의 역할에 따라 수업 전, 중, 후의 시기별, 수업 활용에 따른 유형별로 분류하여 알아보았다. 그 결과 1996년부터 테크놀로지를 활용한 논문은 지속적으로 증가하였고 특히 대학생을 대상으로 한 연구들이 꾸준히 증가하고 있었으며 가장 많은 연구 비율을 차지하였다. 또한 50%이상의 연구들이 실험연구를 하였 으며 연구 주제로는 2009개정 교육과정이후로 블렌디드 러닝에 대한 연구의 증가 추세가 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 테크놀로지는 수업 전반에서 활용되었는데 멀티미디어와 ICT를 주제로 한 연구에서는 테크놀로지를 수업 중에 주로 활용되었고 블렌디드 러닝은 수업 전․후반에 사용되는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구에 서는 테크놀로지를 활용한 영어교육의 방향을 모색해 보았다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to explore the trends and role of technology in English education. To this end, 80 journal articles from 1996 to 2018 are collected in areas of technology, multimedia, ICT, blended learning, and flipped learning, and analyzed based on the following perspectives: 1)the historical trends of technology-related English education 2) research participants 3) research methodologies 4) research subjects 5) role of the technology in teaching and learning process. The findings are: The articles on English education using technology has continuously increased during this period, and researches targeting college students has notably increased. 50% of researches belong to the experimental design. Multimedia and ICT tend to dominate the technology enhanced English education researches until the beginning of 2000s, but after mid-2000s the research topics have dramatically expanded into applications of diverse technology and teaching-learning models. The findings also include that technology is dominantly hired before and after the class for blended learning and flipped learning classes. The findings suggest that periodic researches on the topic should be conducted to catch up with new technologies in education and constantly changing hybrid of combinations between technology and language teaching-learning in classrooms.
