한국판 강점활용 및 약점교정 척도 타당화

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 Van Woerkom 등(2016)이 개발하고 Mostert 등(2017)이 대학생 들을 대상으로 타당화한 강점활용 및 약점교정 행동 척도를 한국어로 번안, 타당화 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 Mostert 등(2017)의 척도를 표준절차에 따라 번안하고, 3차에 걸쳐서 전국의 4년제 대학생 650명을 대상으로 강점활용 및 약점교정 행동, 일반적 강점활용, 주도적 행동, 학업소진, 학업참여, 진로 적응성, 삶의 만족을 측정 하였다. 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석 결과, 본 연구에서는 원 척도의 요인구 조와 동일한 2요인 구조가 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 두 척도 모두 신뢰할 수 있는 내적 타당도 계수를 보여주었고, 검사-재검사 신뢰도도 만족스러운 수준으로 확인되었 다. 강점활용 및 약점교정 행동 척도의 측정 동등성 수준을 검증한 결과, 동등성 모형이 남녀 집단에서 모두 지지되었다. 일반적 강점활용, 주도적 행동과의 관계를 통해 강점활용 및 약점교정 행동 척도의 수렴타당도를 확인한 결과, 모든 상관이 보통 에서 강한 정도의 정적 상관을 보여, 이 척도의 수렴타당도를 확보하였다. 강점활용및 약점교정 행동은 모두 학업소진, 학업참여, 진로적응성, 삶의 만족을 의미 있는 방식으로 예측하여서 준거타당도를 충족하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 약점교정 행동은 학업소진 및 학업참여에, 강점활용 행동은 삶의 만족도와 진로적응성에 더 많은 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 강점활용 행동, 약점교정 행동의 영향력이 문화적 차이가 있을 가능성과 이 척도의 활용성 및 후속 연구방향에 대해 논의하 였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to translate and validate the Strength Use and Deficit Correction Behaviour scales developed by Van Woerkom et al.,(2016) and validated by Mostert et al.,(2017). For this purpose, the measure of Mostert et al.,(2017) was first translated according to the standard procedure. Over the three periods, 650 undergraduates across the country were assessed for strength and deficit behaviors, general strength use, provocative behavior, student burnout, student engagement, career adaptability, and life satisfaction. The results of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis favoured the two factor structure of Korean Version of strength use and deficit correction behaviour scales in this sample similar to Mostert et al.,(2017). Cronbach’s aplha coefficients and test-retest coefficients indicated that both scales were reliable. Measurement invariance testing showed that the two scales were interpreted similarly by participants from gender group. In addition the scales demonstrated convergent validity comparing them with a general strength use and proactive behaviour scale with average to strong correlations. The scales demonstrated criterion validity in that the strengths use and deficit correction behavior both predicted student burnout, student engagement, career adaptability and life satisfaction with meaningful way. In particular, it has been shown that deficit correction behavior has more influence on the student burnout and student engagement while strength use hahavior has more influence on life satisfaction and career adaptation. Finally, we discussed the possibility of cultural differences in influence of strength use behavior and deficit correction behavior, the usability of this scale, and the direction of follow-up research.
