국문 초록

이 연구는 다양한 문화적 맥락은 반영한 전문학습공동체를 통하여 교사의 수업 전문성 신장을 촉진하고 교사의 학습과 전문성 발달을 도모하여 교사의 지속적인 전문성 발달을 꾀하는 것을 물론 학교개혁과 수업 개선에 기여할 수 있는 다양한 방 안을 모색하고자 한다. 구체적인 연구 질문은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전문학습공동체에 참여하는 교사들이 수업 전문성 신장을 위해 운영하고 있는 전문학습공동체는 다양한 문화적 맥락을 어떻게 반영하고 있는가? 학교급에 따라서 활동 주제나 활동 방향이 구체적으로 어떻게 달라지는가? 둘째, 단위학교 전체를 전문학습공동체로 상정하고 있는 학교들은 지속적 전문성 발달(continuous professional development)과정을 어떻게 규정하고 있는가? 연구방법은 다양한 문화적 맥락 안에서 전문학습공동체가 어떻게 구성되고 운영 되고 있는지를 장기간 운영된 PLC 사례를 분석했다. 연구 질문에 따라서 수집된 자료를 분석한 결과를 살펴보면 개별학교 혹은 교사 집단이 지니고 있는 다양한 문화적 맥락을 반영하여 전문학습공동체를 구성하고 운 영할 때 다음과 같은 사항을 고려해야 한다는 점을 파악할 수 있었다. 첫째, 전문학 습공동체를 구성하고 운영할 때 학교급별 특성을 고려할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 학교의 상황과 맥락에 맞게 전문학습공동체를 구성하되 개별 교사들이 공동체 안에서 협력 을 통해서 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 학년중심 교과별, 교과별, 주제별을 적절하게 선 택하는 것이 필요하다. 셋째, 학교 안에서 이루어지는 공동체와 학교 밖에서 이루어 지는 공동체에서 다루어질 수 있는 활동 내용의 범주가 다를 수 있다는 점을 고려해 야 한다. 마지막으로 개별 학교의 문화적 특성에 부합할 수 있는 PLC를 구성하고 운영하는 것이 바람직하다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examining the way in which contributes to continuous professional development through exerting teacher learning and professional development and facilitating teachers professionalization of teaching. Research questions are following: 1) How are professional learning communities which promote teachers professionalization of teaching reflected on diverse cultural contexts? How are themes and direction of activities within professional learning communities in terms of its school levels? 2) How is the process of the continuous professional development differed within a school as a professional learning community? A research method used in this study analyzed multiple cases of professional learning communities reflected on diverse cultural contexts. As a result, those who want to develop professional learning communities with the diverse cultural context need to consider the facts that they want to make it meaningful and successful. First, teachers need to consider the characteristics of school levels when they organize and operate professional learning communities Second, teachers need to carefully select one of diverse options(grade-based subject matter, subject matters, themes) that enable them to solve problems in a collaborative manner within a professional learning community. Third, teachers also need to carefully consider whether the range of activity contents was within or outside a school. Last and the least, it is meaningful only if teachers professional learning and development is taken place within an individual school that are suitable for both individual needs and school needs.
