중등 국어교사의 쓰기 채점 특성에 따른 눈동자 움직임의 차이

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 채점의 일관성에 따라 채점자의 유형을 나누고, 각 유형별 채점 자의 채점 과정을 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 중등 국어교사 7명이 학생의 글 10편 을 채점하도록 하고, 눈동자 움직임을 추적하였다. 채점 결과에 대한 다국면 라쉬 분석을 실시하여 채점자의 엄격성과 엄격성의 일관성에 따라 채점자의 유형을 나누 고, 각 채점자 유형별 눈동자 움직임을 비교하였다. 채점자 유형에 따라 눈동자 움 직임에는 차이가 있었다. 엄격한 채점자들은 관대한 채점자들에 비해 과제지시문과 채점기준표를 자주 응시하였다. 채점의 일관성이 적합한 채점자들은 다른 채점자들 에 비해 과제지시문을 주시하는 시간이 길었으며, 과적합 채점자는 채점기준표를 다 시 보는 시간이 짧았다. 부적합 채점자는 학생의 글을 주시하는 시간이 짧았다. 특 히, 적합한 채점자와 비교할 때, 표현 요인에 대한 눈동자 움직임에서 차이가 있었 다. 이러한 결과는 쓰기 평가의 엄격성과 일관성 수준을 적정하게 유지하기 위해서 는 학생 글을 채점하기 전에 과제 지시문과 채점 기준을 숙지해야 할 필요가 있음을 의미한다. 그렇기 때문에 채점자들에게는 구체적인 채점 전략이 마련되어야 한다.

영문 초록

The aim of this paper is to examine the rater effect practically, which is revealed through the rater’s eye movements. Seven Korean language teachers were asked to score ten explanatory essays written by high school students. The Korean language teachers eye movements during the assessment of essays were analyzed by area of interest; the prompt, the rubric, and the essay. Based on the result of many-facet Rasch measurement analysis, the Korean language teachers were classified according to severity and consistency; the lenient and the severe, the fit, the misfit, and the overfit. Compared to the lenient, the severe gazed the prompt and the rubric frequently and spent longer time for the prompt. Compared to the fit, the overfit spent shorter time for the rubric and the essay more specifically, short time for rubric indicates that the rating scale for the task have not been fully used by the overfit. Compared to the fit, the misfits spent longer time for the writing prompt, while they spent short time for essays. It is inferred that they could not keep their rating consistency because they saw the prompt and rubric frequently rather than reviewing students’ works thoroughly in order to find the ground for their judgments. The results show that for the proper severity and consistency in writing assessment, the raters should be well-informed of the prompt and rubric before rating. Moreover raters have to make their own assessment strategy explicitly.
