초‧중‧고 학부모의 학부모교육 참여 실태 및 활성화 방안 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 최근 들어 그 중요성이 강조되고 있는 학부모교육의 내용과 실태 파악 및 활성화 방안 모색을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 2012년부터 2013년까지 교육 부가 주관한 학부모 학교참여 시범학교 사업에 참여한 36개교의 최종 사업 결과보 고서를 분석하였고, 이들 중 7개교(초등3개, 중등3개, 고등1개)의 학부모 730명을 대 상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실제 현장에 서 학부모교육의 주제로 다루고 있는 내용은 ‘자녀인성교육’과 ‘특정 주제’로 구분되 었다. 둘째, 730명의 응답자 중 40.5%인 296명의 학부모가 지난 1년간 학부모교육에 참여한 경험이 있다고 응답했다. 셋째, 학부모교육 참여 경험이 있는 학부모의 대부 분은 학부모교육에 대해 만족하고 있으며, 자신의 참여가 자녀교육에 기여한다고 인 식하고 있었다. 넷째, 학부모가 생각하는 학부모교육 활성화 방안의 우선순위는 교 육 개최 시간의 다양화, 자질을 갖춘 강사의 확보, 학교 및 담임교사의 적극적인 정 보제공 등의 순으로 나타났다. 한편 학부모교육 참여율, 인식, 활성화 방안 모두에서 학부모 특성(학교급, 거주지역, 어머니 취업여부)에 따라 세부적으로 유의한 차이가 존재했다. 이 연구는 초·중·고 학부모교육 연구의 기초자료로서 학부모교육의 현 상 황을 점검하고, 이를 활성화하기 위한 제언을 제시했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to understand the participation of the parents of elementary, middle and high school children in school parent education and to explore the measures to activate it. In order to achieve this goal, We analyzed reports of business result of 36 schools which participated in the model school business for school parent education sponsored by Ministry of Education from 2012 to 2013, and carried out a survey on 730 school parents from 7 schools (3 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 1 high school) among them. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the contents of school parent education in the school field were divided into ‘character education for children’ and ‘specific subject’. Second, a total of 296 school parents, which accounts for 40.5% of 730 respondents, answered that they participated in school parent education during the past year. Third, most of the school parents who had experience of participating in school parent education were satisfied with the school parent education and thought their participation would contribute to educating their own children. Fourth, the order of priority which the parents thought for school parent education was the diversification of education hours, providing qualified teachers, and school and class teacher’s active offering of information. Meanwhile, the results showed meaningful differences among the participation rate, awareness, and measures for activation in detail according to the characteristic of school parents (such as the level of school, residential district and status of employment). This study is significant in that it examines the current situation of school parent education as base data for the study, and suggests proposals for further activation of school parent education.
