Structural Causes Affecting the Mobile Learning Behavior

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 모바일 학습환경을 위한 구체적인 관리전략을 제안하기 위한 것으로 모바일 자기효능감, 수행기대, 노력기대, 사회적 영향, 그리고 촉진조건 및 사용의도가 학습자의 모바일러닝 실제사용에 영향을 나타내는지를 고찰하여 차별화된 모바일러닝 운영 전략을 제시하는데 있다. 본 연구는 Venkatesh와 그의 동료들이 제안한 UTAUT 모형에 모바일 자기효능감을 추가하여 제안하였다. 이에 따라 2014학년도 1학기에 W 사이버대학에서 모바일 서비스가 제공된 전공필수과목을 수강한 238명의 학습자들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 구조방정식 모델링 분석을 통해 분석한 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 모바일자기효능감, 성과기대, 노력기대 사회적영향은 모바일러닝 사용의도에 영향을 미칠 것이다. 둘째, 사용의도는 모바일러닝 실제사용에 영향을 미칠 것이다. 연구결과, 높은 모바일 자기효능감과 수행기대는 모바일 학습 서비스의 사용의도를 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 두 가지 요소는 사용의도를 매개로 실제사용에 유의한 간접 효과를 주었다. 사용의도는 또한 실제사용에 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것이 확인되었다. 그러나, 노력기대, 사회적 영향, 촉진조건이 모바일학습 서비스의 사용의도에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하고 있음을 보여주었다. 본 연구결과는 모바일 학습환경 설계에 시사점을 줄 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study reported here was to propose specific management strategies for mobile learning environments. The proposed strategies are based on observation of the influence on intention to use of mobile self-efficacy, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions, as well as the effect of intention to use on actual use. Our proposal involves adding mobile self-efficacy to the UTAUT model proposed by Venkatesh et al. (2003). Accordingly, we administered surveys targeting 238 learners taking core courses provided by mobile services in the first semester of 2014 at the W cyber university. The research results analyzed through structural equation modeling. The hypotheses of the current study were (1) that mobile self-efficacy, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions affect intention to use; and (2) that intention to use affects actual use. The results show that higher mobile self-efficacy and performance expectancy led to an increase in the intention to use mobile learning services. It was confirmed that these two causes had significant indirect effects on actual use by mediating the intention to use. It was also confirmed that intention to use directly affected actual use. However, the results also showed that effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions did not have significant effects on the intention to use mobile learning services. The current findings may contribute to the design of mobile learning environments.
