세계문화유산의 교육적 활용 경향과 가치 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 유네스코 세계문화유산의 교육적 활용 경향과 포함된 가치를 파악해 세계문화유산의 교육적 활용을 독려하고자 했다. 분석 대상은 1996년 1월부터 2016년 2월 까지의 최근 20년 동안 유네스코 세계문화유산을 활용한 교육 프로그램을 연구한 국내외 문헌 45편이다. 분석 결과 세계문화유산 활용 교육 연구는 프로그램 개발이 대부분이었다. 활용된 세계문화유산 소재는 역사적 수도 지역의 종교 신앙과 정치 등과 관련된 것이 많았다. 세계문화유산 활용 영역이 역사와 미술 교과 또는 그 둘의 통합 교과에 한정되었고, 중학생과 초등학생을 대상으로 한 교육이 가장 많았다. 교육 방법으로는 강의, 현장 학습, 멀티미디어가 많이 활용되었다. 세계문화 유산의 활용 목적에 따른 네 가지 유형인 세계문화유산을 위한(for) 교육, 세계문화 유산에 대한(about) 교육, 세계문화유산을 통한(through) 교육, 세계문화유산에 의한 (by) 교육은 소재로 활용된 특성, 유네스코 이념 가치 포함 여부, 교육 목표 수준 등 에서 차이를 보였다. 연구 결과에 따라 교육 내용, 교육 방법 등의 다양화가 필요함이 드러났다.

영문 초록

This study explored the trends of educational availability of the World cultural heritage(WCH) and value, and then encouraged the educational availability of WCH. We analyzed 45 papers of domestic and international research of the educational program using UNESCO WCH over the past 20 years (from January 1996 to February 2016). As a result, most of the educational studies using WCH were about the development of educational program. Whereas there were many programs using WCH about the religion and faith, and political history in historical capital. The subjects of WCH education programs were limited to history and art, or the interdisciplinary education including art and history, and the educational objects were mostly aimed at middle and elementary school students. As for the learning methods, lectures, field trips, and multimedia have been widely used. There showed a difference in the consideration of characteristics as educational materials in terms of education for WCH, education about WCH, education through WCH, and education by WCH. The results revealed the necessity of variety in educational contents and method.
