국문 초록

오늘날 디지털 미디어는 실시간 인터랙션을 통하여 사람들로 하여금 자발적인 참여를 유도하고 유희적, 생산적 체험 등과 같은 가치 있는 경험을 제공할 능력을 지니고 있다. 그러나 이러한 가능성에도 불구하고 현재의 디지털 미디어는 2차원 디스플레이에 의존하여 정보를 주고받고 있다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위하여 미디어 아트 분야에서는 실험적으로 다양한 물리적인 움직임을 기반으로 정보를 전달하는 인터랙티브 키네틱 미디어가 활용되고 있다. 본 연구는 미디어 아트를 넘어 인터랙티브키네틱 미디어 설치물의 설계, 제작, 개발을 기반으로 플랫폼적 접근을 통해 새로운 가능성을 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구에서 개발된 ‘일루미러’라고 불리는 인터랙티브 키네틱 미디어 설치물은 물리적으로 피스톤 운동을 하는 225개의 블록 모듈로 구성된다. 이 인터렉티브 키네틱 설치물은 카메라가 사람들의 움직임을 인식하여 작동되며, 이를 통해 역동적인 이미지가 블록 모듈들의 유기적 움직임에 의해 생성된다.

영문 초록

Today, digital media induces spontaneous participation and provides people with valuable experience such as enjoyment and productivity through real-time interaction. However, despite these different possibilities, current digital media send and receive information based on a two-a two-dimensional display. In order to overcome this limitation, interactive kinetic media is experimentally used for transmitting information based on diverse physical movements in the field of media art. This research aims to explore a new possibility of interactive kinetic media through a platform approach based on design, fabrication, and development. Our interactive kinetic media installation, called ‘Lllumirror,’ developed in this research consists of 255 block modules that take a physical piston movement. This interactive kinetic media installation is worked through the camera s recognition of human motion and dynamic images is generated by organic movements of the block modules.
