국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 한국과 중국의 유아기 자녀를 둔 부모의 자녀가치 인식과 유아의 발달기대 수준이 한국과 중국에서 차이가 있는지 알아보고자 실시되었다. 방법 이를 위하여 한국과 중국 유아교육기관에 재원 중인 만 3-5세 학부모를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 한국 부모 344명, 중국 부모 535명, 총 879명의 응답자료를 바탕으로 빈도분석, t 검정, 일원변량 분석(ANOVA)과 Scheffé 검증을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 한국과 중국 부모의 자녀가치 인식 수준 간에는 도구적 가치와 부담적 가치에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며, 도구적 가치에서 중국 부모들이 조금 더 높게 인식하고 있으며, 부담적 가치에서 한국 부모들이 높은 인식을 하는 것으로 확인하였다. 둘째, 한국과 중국 부모 사회인구학적 변인에서 자녀가치 인식은 부모 성별, 연령, 교육수준에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 한국과 중국 부모의 유아 발달기대 수준은 사회규범을 제외한 모든 영역에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 한국 부모들은 학업능력에서 가장 높은 발달기대가 나타났으며, 중국 부모들은 언어적 주장성이 가장 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 한국과 중국 부모 사회인구학적 변인에서 유아 발달기대 수준은 부모 성별, 연령, 교육수준에 대한 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 그러나 한국과 중국 부모들은 자녀 성별에서 어떠한 유의미한 차이도 나타나지 않았다. 결론 한국과 중국 현대사회의 젊은 부모들이 갖는 자녀가치와 발달기대 수준에 대한 인식의 변화와 차이를 보여주고 있어, 두 나라 부모와 자녀 관계를 심층적으로 이해하고 나아가 저출산과 유아의 발달과 관련된 사회문제에 대한 국제적 시각에서의 이해와 개선방안들을 모색하는데 도움이 될 수 있는 기초자료를 제공해주는 것으로 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is a difference between Korean and Chinese parents' perceptions of their children's value and their children's developmental expectations during early childhood in Korea and China. Methods The purposes of a questionnaire survey was conducted with parents of 3-5 year olds in Korean and Chinese early childhood education institutions. Frequency analysis, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Scheffé's validation were conducted on the basis of the response data of 344 Korean parents and 535 Chinese parents, totaling 879 respondents. Results First, there is a significant difference between Korean and Chinese parents in the level of child value perception in terms of instrumental value and affordable value, with Chinese parents having a slightly higher perception of instrumental value and Korean parents having a higher perception of affordable value. Second, among the variables of Korean and Chinese parents' demographic backgrounds, significant differences in child value perceptions emerged in terms of parents' gender, age, and education level. Third, Korean and Chinese parents showed significant differences in the level of expectations for early childhood development in all domains except social norms. Korean parents showed the highest developmental expectations in academic ability, and Chinese parents showed the highest level of language assertiveness. Fourth, there was a significant difference between Korean and Chinese parents' socio-demographic factors in the level of expectations for early childhood development with respect to parents' gender, age, and education level. However, Korean and Chinese parents did not show any meaningful differences in the gender of their children. Conclusions The changes and differences in perceptions of young parents in modern Korean and Chinese societies regarding the value of their children and the level of expectations for their development. In addition, we will gain insights into the relationship between parents and children in the two countries, in order to understand the social problems related to low birth rate and early childhood development from an international perspective, and to provide basic information that will help us to find out the significance of improvement programs.
