마이너리티 여성의 사회적 포용 방안에 관한 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 결혼이주 여성을 ‘학부모’로서의 입장에서 분석하여 그 제한점을 포용하기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위해 진행하였다. 기존의 결혼이주여성 관련 연구가 ‘결혼 생활’ 및 ‘한국사회에의 동화적 적응’에 중점을 두었다면 본 연구에서는 정착 이후 공립초중등 학부모로서의 역할의 제한점 분석에 초점을 맞추었다. 방법 2014년부터 2022년 현재까지 약 8년간, 5명의 중국 및 베트남 여성을 대상으로, 유치원에서 초중등 과정까지의 자녀 성장과정에 따른 양육 경험에 관하여 온라인조사 및 심층 면담을 진행하였다. 결과 결혼이주 여성의 역할을 엄마역할 수행, 생계지원 수행, 학부모 역할 수행 등의 핵심범주를 분류하였을 때 학부모 역할에서 한계점이 가장 높게 나타났다. 즉 엄마 역할 및 생계지원 수행단계를 중시하였던 영유아 단계에서는 한국생활에 대한 만족도가 상당히 높았으나, 초등입학 이후 학년이 높아질수록 자녀와의 갈등 으로인한 부적응도가 높게 나타났다. 그 요인으로 자녀와의 정서적 소통의 한계 및 학부모로서의 역할의 한계가 가장 심각하였고 그것이 자녀의 등교거부 및 정서적 문제로 모든 연구 참여자에게 나타났다. 결론 한국사회에 경제적 안정을 위해 정착한 결혼이주 여성이 출산 및 육아에 동반한 현실적 문제에 직면하면서 자녀가 청소년이 될수록 학업성취도 및 학교생활적응도가 낮아지고 있다. ‘한국어 소통 및 정서적 교감의 한계’ 등의 주요인으로, 학부모로서의 역할제한을 받고 있는 결혼이주여성을 위해, 공립학교의 다문화 학부모대상 개별적 지원 시스템 개선과 동시에 그들을 포용할 수 있는 배려의 문화가 정착되어야할 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study is to analyze marriage immigrant women from the point of view of ‘parents’ and seek ways to embrace their limitations. Whereas previous research on marriage immigrant women was focused on ‘marriage life’ and ‘assimilation into Korean society’, this study is to highlight on the limitations of their role as parents in public elementary and secondary schools after settlement. Methods As a research method, in-depth interviews were conducted a total of 10 times or more on parenting experiences from kindergarten to elementary and middle school from 2014 to 2022 for a grounded theory analysis. Results As a result, when the role of marriage immigrant women was classified into core categories such as mother role performance, livelihood support performance, and parent role performance; the parental role showed the highest limit. In other words, the level of satisfaction with life in Korea was quite high in the infant stage, which emphasized the role of mothers and the stage of providing livelihood support, but they were very concerned about their children's academic achievement and emotional communication difficulties after entering elementary school. Conclusions It is expected that this study will suggest implications for the need for an individual support system for multicultural youth in public schools in a multicultural support system that is currently limited to family life and economic support.
