정신화(Mentalization) 관련 국내 연구 동향 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 최근 중요한 인지-정서 능력 중 하나로 여겨지는 정신화와 관련한 국내 연구 동향을 개관함으로써 정신화의 특징을 체계적으로 이해하고 향후 연구에 대한 시사점을 제공하는 데 있다. 방법 이를 위해 2001년부터 2021년까지 국내 상담 관련 KCI 등재학술지에 게재된 정신화 관련 논문 46편을 대상으로 발행연도, 연구대상, 연구주제 및 분석방법, 측정도구, 연구유형, 심리문제 변인 간 관계를 분석하였다. 결과 첫째, 정신화 연구는 2017년 이후 뚜렷하게 증가하는 추세이며, 연구 대상자는 성인에 주로 집중되는 현상을 보였다. 둘째, 연구방법 면에서는 문헌연구 5편, 질적연구 3편을 제외한 나머지가 모두 양적연구에 해당되었다. 이를 연구분석방법별로 살펴보면, 회귀분석 18.5편(48.7%)이 가장 많이 사용되었고 그 다음으로 구조분석 14편(36.9%)이 사용되었다. 셋째, 연구주제별로는 변인간 관계 연구가 35편(75.9%)으로 가장 많았고, 개관 연구가 5편(10.9%), 척도개발연구 4편(8.7%) 순이었다. 넷째, 측정도구와 관련하여 가장 많이 활용된 측정도구는 ‘정신화 질문지’이며 그 다음으로 SRMQ, Ments 순이었다. 마지막으로 대부분의 연구는 정신화를 매개변인으로 하여 다른 심리적 변인과의 관계에서 정신화의 역할을 확인한 연구 25편(73.5%)이었으며, 독립변인과 종속변인 및 조절변인으로서의 정신화 연구는 각각 4편(11.8%), 2편(5.9%), 3편(8.8%) 순이었다. 결론 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 정신화 연구의 주요 시사점 및 추후 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to systematically understand the characteristics of mentalization and provide implications for future research by overviewing domestic research trends related to mentalization, which are considered one of the important cognitive-emotional abilities. Methods For this purpose, 46 papers related to mentalization published in KCI-registered journals related to major counseling in Korea from 2001 to 2020 were analyzed for the year of publication, research subjects, research topics and analysis methods, measurement tools, research types, and psychological problem variables. Results First, mentalization research has been on a marked increase since 2017, and the subjects of the study were mainly focused on adults. Second, in terms of research methods, all but five literature studies and three qualitative studies were all quantitative studies. Looking at this by research analysis method, 18.5 pieces (48.7%) of regression analysis were used the most, followed by 14 pieces (36.9%) of structural analysis. Third, by research topic, 34 studies on variable relations were the most common (73.9%), followed by 5 studies (10.9%) and 4 studies (8.7%) on scale development. Fourth, the most widely used measurement tool in relation to the measurement tool was the ‘mentalization questionnaire’, followed by SRMQ and Ments. Finally, most of the studies confirmed the role of mentalization in the relationship with other psychological variables using mentalization as a parameter, followed by 4 studies (11.8%), 2 studies (5.9%), and 3 studies (8.8%), respectively. Conclusions Based on the results of this study, the main implications of mentalization research and suggestions for future research were discussed.
