유아의 강점에 대한 의미탐색

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 유아와 교사가 인식하는 유아 강점을 비교하고 차이가 나타난 이유에 대한 교육적 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 이러한 목적에 따라 교사가 인식하는 유아의 강점을 산출하기 위해 표준화된 검사를 활용하였으며 유아가 인식한 자신 의 강점을 살펴보기 위해 유아와의 반구조화된 면담을 이용하였다. 이후 유아와 교사가 인식한 유아의 강점을 비교한 후, 교사 면담을 실시하여 차이가 나타난 의미에 대해 탐색하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 유아와 교사는 강점을 잘하는 것과 좋아하는 것을 모두 포함하는 것, 양면적 정서를 포함하는 것, 주관적 이유에 의해 발견되는 것, 내적 목표에 의해 정의되는 것 네 가지로 그 특성을 묘사하였음을 볼 수 있었다. 둘째, 유아와 교사가 인식한 강점은 부분적으로 일치하는 경우도 있었으나 모두 일치하지 않는 결과도 있었다. 교사는 이러한 불일치에 대해 유아의 발달적, 성격적 특성과 양육 환경의 특성을 그 이유로 들었다. 또한 강점에 대한 인식과 정의 차이와 강점을 발견할 수 있도록 지원하는 환경의 부제로 인해서 이러한 결과가 나타났음을 밝혔 다. 이를 통해 유아의 강점을 이해하기 위해서 표준화된 검사 이외에 유아의 의견과 목소리를 반영함으로써 강점 교육에서 유아를 중심에 둘 필요성이

영문 초록

In this study, we extracted the strengths of children through interviews with teachers and children, and examined the components of strengths for early childhood by comparing the perceptions of early childhood teachers with children own s perception about strengths. For this purpose, the strength of the children was calculated using the standardized test tools used by the homeroom teachers and the strengths of the children were explored using semi - structured interviews with children. After the strengths of children recognized by chilren and homeroom teachers was compared, interviews with homeroom teachers was conducted to explore the cause about their differences in strength recognition perceptions. The children and homeroom teacher described their characteristics as being defined by their inclusion of both ‘doing well thing’ and ‘favortie thing’, inclusion of ambivalence affect, found by subjective reasons, and internal goals. Second, the perceived strengths of the children and the homeroom teacher were partially identical but not all of them. The reason for this discrepancy is because of the developmental, personality characteristics of the children and feature of e parenting environment. And that the differences in the teacher s perception of strengths and the subtitle of the environment that supports to discover strengths is the reason to this result. In order to understand the strengths of children, it is necessary to focus on children’s in strength by reflecting own’s opinions and voices of children.
