국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 여자체육전담교사가 체육수업 및 교직생활에서 겪는 현실적 어려움을 탐색하고, 여자체육전담교사로서의 역할수행 가능성을 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 체육전담 경험이 있는 4명의 여자교사들을 연구 참여자로 하여 질적 사례연구 를 실시하였다. 2018년 8월부터 9월까지 2개월간 연구 참여자와의 심층면담과 문서자료를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집한 자료는 사례기록과 귀납적 범주분석이 이루어졌으며, 동료 간 협의와 구성원 간 검토를 통해 자료의 진실성을 확보하였다. 연구 결과, 여자체육전담교사가 겪는 현실적 어려움은 여자체육전담교사를 바라보는 인식을 담은 스스로와 밖으로부터의 ‘불신’, 체력적인 한계와 부족한 수업기술에서 기인한 ‘부족’, 학생들과 담임교사 및 관리자의 선입견과 편견 속에 인정받지 못하는 ‘소외’로 범주화되었다. 여자체육전담교사에게 기대할 수 있는 역할수행 가능성은 실기 능력과 수업 기술 향상을 위해 노력하는 ‘단점의 보완’과 여자교사 특유의 섬세한 눈으로 관찰하고 공감하는 ‘장점의 극대화’로 정리되었다.

영문 초록

The objective of this study is to explore the practical difficulties that female P.E. specialists go through, and identify their role performance possibilities. In order to do this, a qualitative case analysis was conducted with 4 female subjects who have experienced the role of a female P.E. specialist. Data was collected through in-depth interview from July to August 2017, as well as through curriculum-related documents. The collected data was analyzed through case recording and inductive category analysis. Member check, and peer debriefing established the truthfulness of data. The result of the study shows that the practical difficulties that a female specialist face can be categorized into three categories: internal and external ‘distrust’, governed by the view towards a female P.E. specialist; ‘deficiency’ originating from physical limitations and lack of teaching skills; and ‘alienation’ due to misconceptions and prejudice from students, teachers in charge and principal, as well as due to the lack of recognition. Their role performance possibilities, on the other hand, were categorized as the following: ‘supplementation of weaknesses’ through striving for better teaching skills and physical abilities, and ‘maximization of strengths’ through exercising the ability of female teachers to observe and empathize.
