초중등학교 재학 탈북청소년의 과목별 학업성취 변화양상과 지원방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 1주기 탈북청소년교육종단연구 자료를 활용하여 과목별 학업성취도 변화추이와 이에 대한 개인⋅가정⋅학교⋅방과후학습활동 변인들의 영향을 분석하여 탈북청소년들의 학업증진을 위한 효과적인 지원방안을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한 다. 이 연구에서는 종단적으로 측정된 학업성취도를 종속변수로 하는 반복측정자료 분석 방법이 사용되었다. 연구결과 국어과목에서는 학교의 학습부진학생 지도가, 영어과목에서는 방과후 복지관학습이 탈북청소년의 성적향상에 효과적이었다. 수학과 목에서도 방과후 복지관학습의 효과가 컸지만 조사가 진행됨에 따라 전반적으로 탈북학생들의 성적이 크게 하락하였으며, 특히 초등학생들의 하락 폭이 매우 커서 조기개입 지원프로그램의 도입 필요성이 지적되었다. 탈북청소년의 학업성취 부진과 높은 중도탈락문제가 지속된다면 이는 이들이 학교를 졸업하게 될 수년 내에 교육문제가 아닌 사회문제가 될 것이며 이를 방지하기 위한 학업성취도 부진 실태에 대한 세밀한 연구와 학업성취도 향상을 위한 선제적 지원의 필요성이 지적되었다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed North Korean migrant students’ academic performance using longitudinal analysis methods. This study aimed to help devise effective supporting systems for education of North Korean migrant students by investigating effects of personal, family, school and after-school learning variables to academic performances by subject. The results of this study were as follows: (1) Personalized instruction for underachieving students was effective in improving Korean achievement, and after-school learning in welfare centers was effective in improving English achievement. (2) In case of mathematic, after-school learning in the welfare center was effective, but as the survey progressed, scores of North Korean migrant students declined dramatically, especially in elementary school students. If the North Korean defectors continue to suffer from poor academic achievement, it will grow into social problems within a few years. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct more in-dept studies about academic achievement of North Korean migrant students which will help to establish educational supporting policies for them.
