미술과 교육과정으로 살펴 본 미술의 개념 변화 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 개념사적 연구 방법을 통하여 미술과 교육과정의 변화에 따른 시대적 담론과 각각의 교육과정이 미술을 어떻게 바라보고 있는지 살펴보기 위함이다. 이를 위해 수집된 각 시기의 교육과정, 연구보고서, 교사용 지도서들을 1차 문헌으로 하여 개념사 연구방법론을 통하여 분석하였다. 도출된 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 1980년대까지의 교육과정은 당시의 사회 상황에 따라 합리성, 유용성 등을 추구하며 실생활에 반영할 수 있는 공예, 디자인 등에서 기능적 숙련에 주안점을 두는 기술 교육적 측면이 강하게 나타났으며, 1990-2000년대 교육과정에서는 창의성이 대두되기 시작하고, 삶의 여유가 생기면서 전인교육의 강조, 지역 사회 및 전통 미술 문화의 강조, 미적 체험을 강조하는 모더니즘 예술교육의 특징이 두드러지는 경향을 보인다. 또한, 2010년대에는 급격히 증가하는 정보의 양과 세계화, 공동화 등 급변하는 사회에 능동적으로 대처하기 위해서 표준화 된 지식을 습득하는 지적 능력 뿐 아니라 기술·태도 등 다양한 개인의 역량을 수직·수평적으로 조합하고 활용 할 수 있는 능력이 중 시되었으며, 이에 따라 창의물 생산, 비판적 반성을 통해 시각문화의 복잡성을 고려하는 포스트모더니즘 관점으로 전환됨을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이러한 미술 개념 변화의 파악은 정의적, 주관적 성격이 강한 미술교육의 특수성으로 인하여 공교육의 틀 에서 볼 때 방행성이 명확하지 않다는 비판적 시각을 극복하는 이해가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The study aims to examine the discourse of the period according to the change of art curriculum through a conceptual history research method and how each curriculum sees the art. To do this, the first literature such as curriculum, research report, and teacher s guidebooks of each period was collected and analyzed through conceptual history research methodology. The results of the study are as follows. Until the 1980s, the curriculum focused on functional skills in crafts and designs that could be reflected in real life, pursuing rationality and usefulness according to the social situation of the time. In the 1990s and 2000s, creativity began to emerge and there was a tendency for putting emphasis on the importance of the whole education, community and traditional art culture, and the modernism art education which focuses on aesthetic experience. In addition, in 2010s, the abilities to combine and utilize the capacities of various individuals such as technology and attitude vertically and horizontally as well as the intellectual abilities to acquire standardized knowledge were emphasized in order to actively cope with rapidly changing societies such as globalization and increasing amount of information. As a result, it was confirmed that it has shifted to postmodernism considering the complexity of visual culture through the production of creative products and critical reflection. This understanding of art concept change will overcome the criticism that artistic education is not clear in the framework of public education because of the specificity of artistic education which is strong in the definition and subjective nature.
