청소년의 자기통제와 학습시간의 교호적 관계

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 한국청소년패널조사(KYPS) 중학교 패널의 데이터를 사용하여 자기통제와 학습시간의 안정성과 상호예측의 정도를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 중학교 2학년 학생 3,449명을 매년 추적조사한 패널자료의 2003년부터 2007년까지 5년치의 관심변인들을 추출하여 사용하였다. 연구방법으로는 자기회귀교차지연 모형을 사용하였으며, 분석결과 연구모형을 검증하기 위한 가정인 동일성 제약들은 충족 되었으며 최종모형의 결과 중학교 시기의 자기통제와 학습시간은 고등학교를 마치는 시기까지 비교적 안정적으로 유지되었고, 안정성 지수의 상대적 크기는 자기통제가 학습시간보다 컸다. 또한 이전 시점의 자기통제는 다음 시점의 학습시간을 유의하게 정적으로 예측하였고, 학습시간은 최초 한 시점을 제외하고는 모두 다음 시점의 자기통제를 유의하게 정적으로 예측하여, 두 변인의 교호적 관계를 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로, 최초 측정된 부모의 사회경제적배경은 이후 시점의 자기통제와 학습시간을 유의하게 정적으로 예측하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the longitudinal stability and reciprocal relationship between self-control and learning time of adolescents using Korean Youth Panel Study (KYPS) -Middle School Cohort data. We extracted and utilized variables from 8th (Time 1) to 12th (Time 5) collected for five time-points in KYPS. We employed an Autoregressive Cross-lagged Model (ACLM) in order to test autoregressive effects of within-variables and cross-lagged effects of between-variables. Assumptions of invariance for testing ACLM were satisfied and the fit indexes displayed our hypothesized model fit data well. Results showed that self-control and learning time were found to be stable over the five-year period, having relative differences in terms of the magnitude of autoregressive coefficients (self-control > learning time). Self-control in each time point predicted subsequent learning time and learning time in 9th grade predicted subsequent self-control, thereby identifying the cross-lagged effects of two variables. Additionally, SES in 8th grade positively predicted self-control and learning time in 9th grade.
