중학생의 수학적 성향이 수학성취에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중학생의 수학적 성향이 수학성취에 미치는 영향에서 수학불안의 매개효과를 확인하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 수학적 성향의 하위요인으로 ‘수학적 자신감, 수학적 의지력, 수학적 가치, 수학적 융통성, 수학적 반성’을 선정하였다. 그리고 수학불안의 하위요인으로 ‘수업불안, 시험불안, 학습동기, 선입견’을 선정하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 중학교 2학년 191명이며, 1학기 수학과목 1차 고사를 마친 후 2차 고사 전에 설문조사를 하였다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 구조방정식 모형을 적용하여 연구모형을 구성하였다. 연구모형을 검증하기 위해서 측정모형 분석 후 구조 모형 분석을 하였다. 간접효과의 통계적 유의성 검증에는 부트스트래핑 분석을 적용 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중학생의 수학적 성향과 수학성취 사이에 유의한 정적 상관이 있었고, 수학적 성향은 수학성취에 정적인 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 중학생의 수학불안과 수학성취 사이에 유의한 부적 상관이 있었고, 수학불안은 수학 성취에 부적인 영향을 주었다. 셋째, 중학생의 수학적 성향과 수학불안 사이에는 부적 상관이 있었고, 수학적 성향은 수학불안에 부적인 영향을 주었다. 넷째, 수학적 성향이 수학불안의 매개효과를 통한 수학성취에 미치는 간접효과는 유의하게 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 제한점과 향후 연구에 대한 몇 가지 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of mathematical disposition and mathematics anxiety on achievement of middle school students. And to identify the mediating effects of mathematics anxiety on the relationship between mathematical disposition and achievement. To this end, we selected a mathematical confidence, mathematical willpower, mathematical values, mathematical flexibility, mathematical reflection as a sub-factors of the mathematical disposition. And class anxiety, test anxiety, learning motivation, prejudice were selected as sub-factors of math anxiety. 191 students in the second year of middle school were included in the study, questionnaire survey was conducted between the first and second exams of the mathematics subjects in the first semester. The research model was constructed by applying the structural equation modeling to achieve the research purpose. In the verification of the research model, the structural model was analyzed after the analysis of the measurement model. The bootstrapping analysis was applied to the statistical significance test of the indirect effect. The results of the study are as follows. First, there was a significant positive correlation between the mathematical disposition and mathematics achievement of middle school students, and the mathematical disposition had a positive effect on mathematics achievement. Second, there was a significant negative correlation between math anxiety and achievement, and math anxiety had a negative effect on achievement. Third, there was a negative correlation between mathematical disposition and math anxiety, and mathematical disposition had a negative effect on math anxiety. Fourth, the indirect effect of mathematical disposition on math achievement through math anxiety was significant. Finally, some limitations of this study and some suggestions for future research were suggested.
