학습자 중심 수업이 초등학생의 창의역량에 미치는 영향 분석

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 2015 개정교육과정에서 지속적으로 강조해온 학습자 중심 수업이 미래핵심역량 중 창의역량에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 학교 특성에 따른 차별적 효과가 존재하는지 실증적으로 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 한국교육개발원에서 수집한 「학교교육실태 및 수준 분석 연구」초등학교 4주기(2014) 데이터의 학생, 학부모, 교사 및 학교 자료를 활용하였으며, 교육 자료의 위계적 속성을 고려하여 2수준 다층모형을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 학습자 중심 수업이 초등학생의 창의적 사고역량, 문제해결역량, 정보활용역량에 미치는 평균적 효과는 모두 통계적으로 유의하게 나타나, 학습자 중심 수업이 창의역량에 긍정적인 영향을 끼치고 있음을 확인하였다. 다음으로 차별적 효과를 분석한 결과, 학습자 중심 수업이 초등학생의 창의역량에 미치는 영향은 학교 특성 중 교사의 수행평가 활용정도와 단위학교의 교육과정 자율화에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 또한, 창의역량에 영향을 미치는 학생 수준 변수를 살펴본 결과, 가정 배경 특성보다는 독서향유정도, 하루 평균 운동시간, 진로성숙도, 학습동기와 같은 학생 특성 변수의 영향력이 유의하게 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 우리나라 초등학생들의 창의역량 제고를 위한 정책적 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of learner-centered instruction, which has been consistently emphasized in the 2015 revised national curriculum, on creative competencies (creative thinking competency, problem solving competency, information competency) of elementary school students. Considering the effect of learner-centered instruction on creative competence is assumed to vary according to school characteristics, differential effects of schools traits are also analyzed. For the analysis, two-level hierarchical linear modeling(HLM) is employed using data from the fourth wave of elementary school survey of the「Korean Longitudinal Study of Primary and Secondary Schools(KLSPSS)」. Major findings of the study are as follows. First, the average effects of learner-centered instruction on the three sub-category of creative competencies(creative thinking competence, problem solving competence and information competence) of elementary school students are all significant. The result verifies that learner-centered instructions have a positive impact on the development of students’ creative competencies. Second, the effects of learner-centered instruction on creative competence vary by school characteristics such as the utilization of performance assessment by teachers and curriculum autonomy at school level. Third, students’ personal factors rather than family background have a significant effect on creative competencies of elementary school students. Specifically, the extent of reading enjoyment, average exercise time, career maturity and learning motivation have a close relationship with creative competence. Based on these findings, the educational implications for the improvement of students’ creative competence are discussed.
