국문 초록

목적 이 연구는 만 3세 유아의 그림책 읽기 활동을 통해 언어발달의 변화는 어떠한지 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 방법 인천시에 위치한 A어린이집 만 3세반 유아를 대상으로 남아 7명, 여아 7명 총 14명을 연구참여자로 선정하였다. 자료수집은 2022년 6월~2022년 9월까지 주 2회 3개월 동안 참여관찰연구법으로 관찰일지, 유아면담, 관찰 동영상의 세가지 방법으로 수집을 실시하였다. 현장관찰과 측정, 결과기록은 단일대상 연구방법인 중다기초선으로 기초선, 중재, 유지를 측정하고 기록하여 분석하였다. 결과 만 3세 유아의 정서적 언어발달 변화를 알아보기 위해 진행한 그림책 읽기 경험은 그림책 내용에 따른 ‘유아들의 감정전달 및 정서적 언어표현’, ‘긍정적 발화’가 증가하였고, 긍정적인 상호작용 변화는 만 3세 유아들이 ‘상대방 말을 경청’, ‘부드러운 대화’, ‘자연스러운 발화’로 이어져 ‘만 3세 언어발달의 성장’으로 나타났다. 결론 연구결과를 통해 그림책 읽기는 만 3세 유아의 언어발달에 영향을 미치는 것과 그림책 내용에 따른 감정전달 및 언어적 표현이 증가와 유지되는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 긍정적 상호작용의 대화가 나타났고 경청과 기다리기, 반응하기의 변화를 나타냈다. 유아의 언어 상호작용의 기초가 되는 그림책 읽기 활동을 통해 교육환경에 따른 교사의 역할이 중요하다는 것과 정서적 언어확장이 가능하다는 것을 알 수 있었기에 환경적 요인인 어린이집에서 활용할 필요성을 제기한다. 이 연구는 다양한 관계 속에서 적절한 언어 및 감정표현과 공감 형성에 어려움을 겪는 유아 활동의 문제를 극복하기 위해 그림책 읽기 활동을 교육과정에 반영하여 어린이집 내 유아의 정서적 언어발달을 확장시키고, 활용한 사례로 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine changes in language development in 3-year-old children through picture book reading activities. Methods A total of 14 children, 7 boys and 7 girls, were selected as research participants, targeting 3-year-old class children at daycare center A located in Incheon. Data were collected through three methods: observation diaries, interviews with children, and observation videos through participant observation research, twice a week for three months from June 2022 to September 2022. Field observations, measurements, and results records were analyzed by measuring, recording, and recording baseline, intervention, and maintenance using the single-subject research method, multiple baseline. Results The picture book reading experience conducted to investigate changes in the emotional language development of 3-year-old children showed an increase in ‘children's emotional communication and emotional language expression’ and ‘positive speech’ according to the content of the picture book, and positive interaction changes were observed in children aged 3 years. The three toddlers showed ‘growth in language development at age 3’ by ‘listening to each other’, ‘smooth conversation’, and ‘natural speech’. Conclusions Through research results, it was confirmed that reading picture books affects the language development of 3-year-old children and that emotional communication and verbal expression according to the contents of picture books increase and are maintained. In addition, positive interactive conversations appeared and changes in listening, waiting, and responding were observed. Through the picture book reading activity, which is the basis of children's language interaction, it was found that the role of the teacher according to the educational environment is important and that emotional language expansion is possible, raising the need to utilize it in daycare centers, which is an environmental factor. This study is an example of expanding and utilizing the emotional language development of children in daycare centers by reflecting picture book reading activities in the curriculum to overcome the problems of children's activities who have difficulty expressing appropriate language and emotions and forming empathy in various relationships. It has meaning.
