가정폭력피해자의 회복적 대화모임 참여 경험에 관한 사례연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 경찰에서 시행중인 가정폭력피해자의 회복적 대화모임에 참여한 경험과 그 의미를 이해하기 위한 것이다. 방법 본 연구는 질적 연구방법론 중 사례연구 분석법을 통해 실시되었다. 연구 참여자는 112에 신고를 한 가정폭력피해자이면서 회복적대화모임에 참여한 2명을 대상으로 심층면담을 하였고, 분석 방법은 사례 간 분석을 통해 두 사례에서 나타난 공통적인 경험에 초점을 맞춰 범주화를 시도하였다. 결과 범주화 결과 6개의 상위범주와 14개의 하위범주로 범주화하였다. 가정폭력피해자의 회복적 대화모임 참여경험은 ‘공권력에 의지하고 싶어짐 ’, ‘도움받을 수 있는 마지막 기회로 여기게 됨’, ‘심리적 안정감을 형성함’, ‘상호 간의 입장과 상황을 직면하는 시간’, ‘성장한 자신의 모습을 직시’, ‘가해자의 긍정적 변화를 보임’ 이라는 상위범주로 도출되었다. 연구결과는 참여자들의 공통 경험이 갖는 의미를 주제별로 정리한 ‘사례 간 분석’으로 제시하였다. 결론 본 연구에서 피해자는 경찰에서 진행하는 회복적 대화모임을 통해 공권력의 힘으로 가해자가 변화하기를 기대하는 바람, 지푸라기 잡는 심정으로 회복적 대화모임에 참여하였으나 참여 과정에서 점차 자신을 약자의 위치에서 가해자와 동등한 관계로 성장하는 경험으로 의미를 부여하고 있었다. 이는 피해자가 상대방과 자신을 이해하는 통찰의 과정을 경험하면서 상황을 조망하는 능력과 대처기술 및 갈등 조절 능력의 향상으로 해석할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 가정폭력피해자의 내적 성장 및 피해 회복를 위한 회복적 대화모임의 활성화를 위한 제언과 국가의 정책적 노력의 필요성을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to understand domestic violence victims' participation experiences in a restorative conversation meeting conducted by the police and its meaning. Methods This study was conducted based on a paradigm in qualitative research methodology, and it was carried out through qualitative case study methodology among them. Results The study participants were two domestic violence victims who had reported to 112 and participated in a restorative conversation meeting, and an in-depth interview was carried out with them. Its analysis method was first developed to reveal a meaningful topic for each case through intra-case analysis, and categorization was attempted through inter-case analysis. The categorization resulted in six supercategories and seventeen subcategories. The domestic violence victims’ participation experiences in a restorative conversation meetingled to the supercategories: wanting to depend on public power, considering it as a last chance, building psychological stability, time to face each other's positions and situations, looking straight at grown-up self, and perpetrators’ showing a positive change. The study results presented subsequent changes and an inter-case analysis which summarized the meaning of their common experiences by topic. Conclusions In this study, the victims participated in the restorative conversation meeting in the hope that the public power would change the perpetrators through a restorative conversation meeting conducted by the police and with the feeling of grasping at straws, and in the participation process, they were gradually giving meaning as an experience of growing themselves from a weak position to an equal relationship with the perpetrators. It was possible to interpret this as an improvement in the victims’ ability to view the situations, cope with them, and control a conflict while experiencing a process of insight to understand the others and themselves. Finally, for internal growth and damage recovery of domestic violence victims, suggestions for revitalizing restorative conversation meeting and the necessity for policy efforts at national level were discussed.
