청소년의 성격, 양육태도, 자기통제, 게임 과몰입 간의 구조적 관계

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 종단 자료를 활용하여 청소년의 성격, 부모의 양육태도, 자기통제, 게임 과몰입 간 구조적 관계를 살펴보고, 구조적 관계에 성차가 존재하는지 확인하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 한국콘텐츠진흥원의 게임이용자 패널(Game User Panel) 연구 조사 3개년도 자료(2014년, 2015년, 2016년)의 775명을 연구대상으로 하였으며, 구조방정식모형 분석을 하였다. 결과 분석 결과, 첫째, 성격 5요인 중 성실성이 자기통제에 정적인 직접 영향, 우호성, 외향성이 게임 과몰입에 부적인 직접 영향을 미쳤다. 긍정적 양육태도는 자기통제에 정적인 직접 영향, 부정적 양육태도는 자기통제에 부적인 직접 영향을 미쳤다. 긍정적 양육태도는 게임 과몰입에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않지만, 부정적 양육태도는 게임 과몰입에 정적인 직접 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 성실성, 긍정적 양육태도와 게임 과몰입의 관계에서 자기통제의 부적 매개효과가 확인되었으며, 부정적 양육태도와 게임 과몰입의 관계에서 자기통제의 정적 매개효과가 확인되었다. 셋째, 다집단 분석 결과, 자기통제가 게임 과몰입에 미치는 경로계수의 크기에서 성차가 존재하는 것으로 확인되었으며, 남학생이 여학생보다 더 큰 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구는 게임 과몰입을 감소시키기 위해 부모의 양육태도뿐 아니라 가정 및 학교에서 청소년의 건강한 성격 발달을 촉진할 수 있는 환경을 조성해 주는 것이 중요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The current study aimed to determine the longitudinal relationships among adolescents personality, recognition of parenting attitude, self-control and game-overindulgence, then tried to determine the gender differences in this relationship. Methods 775 early adolescents panel data from KOCCA s Game User Panel in 2014 to 2016 utilized a structural equation model to examine the relationship. Results First, it was found that one’s conscientiousness heightened self-control while agreeableness and extraversion heightened game-overindulgence. In addition, positive recognition of parenting attitude heightened self-control and lowered game-overindulgence. However, negative recognition of parenting attitude heightened game-overindulgence and self-control had a negative mediating effect in the relationship between negative recognition of parenting attitude and game-overindulgence. Second, self-control had a negative mediating effect in the relationship among conscientiousness, positive recognition of parenting attitude and game-overindulgence. Third, the relationship between self-control and game-overindulgence in female and male groups were different. In the female group, self-control had a stronger negative influence on game-overindulgence. Conclusions Thus, it suggests in-depth future studies with regard to how to heighten adolescent’s positive personality and positive recognition of parenting attitude in order to reducing game-overindulgence.
