국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 부모의 긍정적 양육태도, 중학생의 자아존중감, 삶의 만족 및 학업열의간의 구조적 관계를 확인하고, 부모의 긍정적 양육태도가 중학생의 학업열의에 미치는 영향에서 자아존중감과 삶의 만족의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 수행되었다. 방법 이를 위하여 2018년 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사(Korean Children and Youths Panel Survey: KCYPS)의 중학교 1학년 패널 2차년도(2019년) 자료를 대상으로 구조모형을 구성하고 검증하였다. 모형의 검증은 SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 23.0 프로그램을 통해 χ2검정과 CFI, TLI, RMSEA 등의 적합도지수를 산출하여 모형의 적합도를 살펴봄으로 이루어졌다. 아울러, 매개효과 검증을 위하여 부트스트래핑을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 부모의 긍정적 양육태도, 중학생의 자아존중감, 삶의 만족, 학업열의는 유의미한 정적인 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 부모의 긍정적 양육태도는 중학생의 자아존중감을 매개로 학업열의에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 부모의 긍정적 양육태도는 중학생의 삶의 만족을 매개로 학업열의에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 중학생의 자아존중감과 삶의 만족은 부모의 긍정적 양육태도와 학업열의의 관계에서 이중매개효과가 있었다. 결론 본 연구 결과는 학업부담이 스트레스로 경험되는 중학생 시기에 이들의 학업열의를 향상시키기 위하여 부모의 긍정적 양육태도가 요구되며, 더불어 중학생의 학업열의를 위하여 이들의 자아존중감과 삶의 만족에 관심을 기울일 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of this study were to analyze the structural relationshiips among positive parenting attitude, self-esteem, life satisfaction, and academic engagement of middle school students and to investigate the mediating effect of self-esteem and life satisfaction on the relationship between positive parenting attitude and middle school students’ academic engagement. Methods For the purpose of this study, the data of the 2nd year of the 2018 Korean Children and Youths Panel Survey was used. The structural model was verified using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0. The χ2value, CFI, TLI, RMSEA values were reviewed to verify the fit of the structural model. In addition, the bootstrapping procedure was performed to confirm the mediating effect. Results The results are as follows. First, there was a positive correlation between positive parenting attitude, middle school students’ self-esteem, life satisfaction, and academic engagement. Second, self-esteem mediated between positive parenting attitude and middle school students’ academic engagement. Third, life satisfaction mediated betweenpositive parenting attitude and middle school students’ academic engagement. Forth, self-esteem double-mediated between positive parenting attitude and academic engagement via life satisfaction. Conclusions The results of this study suggest that positive parenting attitudes are required in order to improve academic engagement during the middle school years when the academic burden is experienced as stress, and it is also necessary to pay attention to middle school students self-esteem and life satisfaction.
