유학생을 위한 동영상 강의(K-MOOC) 담화 분석 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 유학생을 위한 동영상 강의 담화를 분석하여 일반적인 듣기와 다르면서, 전통적인 교실 수업과도 다른 동영상 강의 담화의 장르적 특질을 탐구하는 데에 있다. 방법 K-MOOC 교양 강좌 15편이 무선 표집으로 선정되었고, 2020년 10월부터 12월까지의 기간 동안 제공된 강의 영상 대본이 수집되어 Jefferson 전사 체계에 따라 수정되었으며, NVivo 12 Plus를 이용하여 분석되었다. 결과 분석 결과, 실시간 수업과 차이를 보이는 동영상 강의 담화 구조, 거시적⋅미시적 담화 표지와 기능별 세부 유형들, 구조 이해와 예측을 돕는 담화 조직어, 주요 정보를 표시해 주는 강조 수단, 학습자의 이목을 끌고 참여를 촉진시키는 질문의 상호 작용적 기능, 파워포인트와 신체 언어 등 비언어적 수단이 보고되었다. 결론 강의 듣기 교육에 적용 방안을 논하였으며 웹 기반 교수 학습에서 유의할 점, 특히 강의 담화 구조와 그것을 예측하게 해 주는 담화 표지와 담화 조직어의 유용성, 담화 구조 파악과 들을 내용 예측, 주요 정보 식별의 수단으로써 어휘 교육의 중요성, 강의 듣기와 읽기 혹은 강의 듣기와 쓰기를 통합한 교수의 필요성이 논의되었고, 웹 기반 강의를 위한 교사 교육이 강조되었다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to examine the discourse features of video lecture genre that are different from general listening situation and traditional classroom lessons by analyzing video lecture discourses for international students. Methods 15 lectures were randomly sampled. During the period from October to December 2020, the provided transcripts of video lectures were collected, and retranscribed using the Jefferson transcription system. The data were analyzed employing NVivo 12 Plus. Results The results indicate that the discourse structure of video lectures different from real-time classes, macro and micro discourse markers and their detailed types, discourse organizing words to help understand and predict structures, emphasis means to mark key information, interactive functions of questions to attract learners attention and promote participation, and non-verbal means such as power point and body language, were reported. Conclusions Based on the findings, the educational application to lecture listening was suggested. Points to note in web-based teaching and learning, in particular, structures of lectures, the usefulness of the discourse markers and discourse organizing words to predict it, the importance of vocabulary as a mean of identifying discourse structure, predicting contents, and identifying key information, and the necessity of integrating listening and reading, or listening and writing were discussed, and the need of teacher education for web-based lectures was argued.
