남자 중학생의 성(性)에 관한 인식 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 우리나라 남자 중학교 학생들의 성적 인식을 유형별로 분류하고 유형별 특징을 파악하여, 남자 중학생들에게 필요한 가치관 교육 및 성교육프로그램 구성에 활용하고자 한다. 방법 인간의 주관성을 측정하는데 유용한 Q방법론을 활용하였다. 결과 남자 중학생들은 4가지 유형으로 분류됐다. 유형별 특징을 살펴보면, 제1유형은 성에 대해 자유롭고 열린 태도를 가진 ‘성적욕구표현형’, 제2유형은 인권의식에 관심이 많으며 성에 대해 엄격한 윤리적 태도를 가진 ‘성적 윤리강조형’, 제3유형은 성을 향유하는 데는 개방적이나 그 외에는 보수적 윤리의식을 가진 ‘성적 양가감정형’, 제4유형은 평등과 공정을 중시하며 성에 대해 열린 태도를 가진 ‘성적 차별민감형’으로 나눌 수 있었다. 남자 중학생들의 특징과 관련하여 주의 깊게 논의해볼 사항은, 현재 남자 중학생들은 성적 편견과 차별에 대해 강한 거부감을 가지고 있으며, 평등과 공정을 삶의 중요한 가치요소로 생각한다는 점이다. 하지만 이들이 말하는 평등은 기계적으로 적용되는 일률적인 평등으로 약자와 소수자에 대한 배려를 전제하지는 않는다. 이에 자신과 타인의 ‘고통’에 대해 예민하게 감각하고 표현할 수 있는 ‘공감력’을 전제로 한 평등개념을 새롭게 제안하고자 한다. 결론 남자 중학생들의 성적 인식은 4가지 유형으로 분류되며, 유형별 특징은 가치관 교육 및 성교육프로그램에 유용하게 활용할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to classify the sexual perception of Korean male middle school students by type, identify the characteristics of each type, and use it in the formation of values education and sex education programs necessary for male middle school students. Methods A useful Q methodology was used to measure human subjectivity. Results As a result of the study, male middle school students were classified into four types. To name it according to the characteristics of each type, the first type is ‘The sexual desire expression’, and the second type is ‘The sexual ethics emphasis’. The third type is ‘The ambivalence over sexuality’, and the fourth type is ‘The sexual discrimination- sensitivity’. Regarding the characteristics of male middle school students, the point to be discussed is that children currently have a strong sense of resistance to sexual prejudice and discrimination, and they consider equality and fairness as important values of life. However, the equality they are talking about is uniform equality applied mechanically, and does not presuppose consideration for the weak and the minority. In this regard, I would like to propose a new concept of equality based on the premise of ‘empathy’ that can sensitively sense and express the ‘pain’ of oneself and others. Conclusions Male middle school students sexual perception is classified into four types, and the characteristics of each type can be usefully used in values education and sex education programs.
