사범계열 학생들의 학습참여 촉진 방안 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 사범계열 학생들의 학습참여에 영향을 미치는 요소들을 이해하는데 목적을 두고 있으며, 15명의 대학생들이 이번 연구를 위해 참여했다. 연구 결과, 사범계열 학생들은 전공문화, 학습활동, 그리고 상호작용 측면에서 다양한 경험을 하고 있었다. 사범계열이 가지고 있는 문화, 즉 목표 지향적인 특성이 학생들의 학습참여 기회를 제한하고 있었다. 전공이 중시되는 풍토는 학생들의 교육과정 선택에 영향을 미쳤는데, 학생들은 전공을 우선순위로, 그리고 교양, 온라인 등 수업선택의 차별화를 두었다. 학습활동 측면에서, 전공에서의 과중한 학습활동, 수준차가 고려되지 않은 교과운영, 온라인 수업 콘텐츠 질 저하는 학생들의 학습 참여/몰입에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로 교수·학생 상호작용은 수업 신뢰도를 높이고 학습 분위기를 형성하는데 중요한 역할을 수행했다. 그러나 교수·학생 상호작용이 원활하지 않을 때 학생들은 참여의 어려움을 호소했다. 이 연구는 대학 행정가들이 학생들을 위해 제공하는 교육 서비스를 개선하는데 필요한 기초 자료를 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This qualitative research was designed to investigate and further understand the factors affecting the academic engagement of students attending the college of education of K university. Fifteen undergraduate students participated in this study. Findings indicate that culture of the college, which is goal-oriented and major-focused, limited their opportunities to participate in learning. In particular, the major-focused attitude influenced course selection, and courses required by the major were selected first, followed by general education and online courses. In terms of learning activity, excessive class activities, classes that did not consider gaps in learning, and the poor quality of online courses had a negative impact on the students’ academic engagement/commitment. Finally, faculty-student interaction played an important role in establishing class reliability and creating a learning atmosphere; however, its poor quality hindered student engagement. This knowledge can be helpful to administrators willing to develop academic services and programs for college students.
