국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 대학생들의 입학 초 대학생활적응력 검사결과가 그들의 학업성취 및 중도탈락에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 확인하는 것이다. 연구참여자는 H대학 신입생 중 대학생활적응력 진단검사에 참여한 1002명의 대학생들이다. 이 연구에서 는 신입생들의 대학적응력수준이 입학당해년도, 1년 후, 2년 후 학업성취도에 미치는 영향과 2년 후 중도탈락여부에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 중다회귀분석 및 이 분형 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 대학생의 입학 첫 학기와 이후의 학업성취수준에 영향을 미치는 주요한 변인은 학문적 통합성, 학업시간 충분성인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적 통합성은 대학생의 첫 학기 학업성취수준에 부정적 영향을 미치나, 1년 후, 2년 후 학업성취수준에는 영향을 미치지 않았다. 셋째, 대학교육 만족도는 입학 첫 학기, 1년 후 학업성취수준에 부적 영향을 미치며, 2년 후 중도탈락여부를 결정하는 요인으로 밝혀졌다. 결론적으로, 대학생활적응력진단도구의 일부 변인이 입학 당해 및 이후의 학업성취수준과 중도탈락여부를 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구에서는 대학생활적응력 진단도구의 전체를 활용하기 보다는 일부 결과를 활용해 대학생의 학교생활적응에 도움을 줄 수 있는 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to determine how the results of freshmen’s adaptability to university life affect their academic achievement and dropout. Participants were 1002 freshmen from H university who participated in the adaptability test to university life. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to investigate the effect of freshmen s college adaptability on academic achievement in the year, one year, and two years after admission. The binary variable logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine the effect of freshmen s college adaptability on dropout. The results of this study are as follows: First, the major variables influencing the level of academic achievement in the first semester and beyond of college students were academic integration and learning time. Second, social integration has a negative effect on college students academic achievement level in the first semester, but it does not affect academic achievement level after one year and two years. Third, the satisfaction of college education affects negatively on academic achievement level in the first semester and one year after admission, and it is a factor to decide whether to drop out after two years. Fourth, the results of the university adaptation test at the beginning of admission showed a low degree of prediction of the academic achievement level and dropout status of university students. However, some variables of the scales influenced academic achievement level and dropout. The results of the adaptability test of university life were used to discuss ways to help students adapt to school life.
