독박육아를 경험하는 어머니가 인식하는 어려움에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 독박육아 경험에서 어머니가 인식하는 본인과 가족 구성원들의 어려움을 심층적으로 살펴보기 위함이다. 이를 위해 현재 독박육아를 하는 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 6명을 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 자료 수집은 2019년 2월 24일부 터 5월 5일까지 연구 참여자 별로 2회씩 개별 심층 면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 어머니들이 인식한 본인의 어려움은 잠시도 쉴 틈이 없는 하루의 반복과 수면 부족에이은 건강의 적신호, 아쉬운 육아 지원제도, 배울 곳이 없는 육아 방법, 경력단절과 복직에 대한 두려움으로 나타났다. 한편 가족 구성원들이 겪는 어려움은 소원해진관계로 인한 남편과의 불협화음, 유일한 육아 지원자인 친정엄마에 대한 죄송한 마음, 불가능한 둘째 자녀 계획으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 독박육아를 하는 어머니와 가족 구성원들을 위한 실효성 있는 정책 입안의 필요성을 시사하고 정책의 방향성 정립에 기초자료를 제공하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine in depth the difficulties of self and family members perceived by mother in the experiences of dedicated mother parenting, the so called ‘Dokbak’ parenting. To this end, six mothers with infants and children who are currently in charge of parenting alone were selected as research participants. In-depth interviews were conducted twice to collect data for each study participants from February 24 to May 5, 2019. As research results, mothers perceptions of the difficulties associated with ‘Dokbak’ parenting were revealed as follows: The red light of health following daily life repetition that can t rest at all and lack of sleep, the shortcomings in child care support systems, no place to learn parenting methods, and fear from career interruption and reinstatement. Difficulties encountered with family members, on the other hand, turned out to be a continued discord with their husband, always feeling sorry for their mothers, and impossible next child birth plan. This study suggested the necessity of effective policy making for ‘Dokbak’ parenting mothers and their families, and provided basic data needed to establish the direction of policy.
