국문 초록

이 연구는 초등학생들이 살아가고 있는 삶의 터전인 마을교육공동체를 기반으로 생태체험교육 프로그램을 설계하고 운영하면서 그들의 환경 감수성과 생명존중 인식에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지 알아보았다. 이 연구는 2018년 5월부터 2018년 11월까지 경기도 시흥시 소재 S초등학교 6학년 6개반 학생 172명을 대상으로 하였다. 마을교육공동체 생태체험교육 프로그램 실시하기 전․후에 연구 대상자의 환경 감수성과 생명존중 인식 검사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생을 대상으로 한 마을교육공동체 생태체험교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 총 14차시로 개발된 프로그램은 학생들에게 마을 주변의 하천 및 숲과 관련된 지식과 문제를 해결할 수 있는 활동을 경험할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 둘째, 개발된 마을교육공동체 생태체험교육 프로그램은 모든 환경 감수성 요인에서 유의미한 결과를 나타내었다. 따라서 인적, 물적 자원을 활용한 마을공동체 생태체험교육 프로그램은 초등학생들의 환경 감수성 향상에 효과가 있다고 할 수 있다. 셋째, 개발된 마을교육공동체 생태체험교육 프로그램은 생명존중 태도와 행동 요인에서는 유의미한 결과를 나타내었지만, 생명존중 지식 요인에서는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 그 이유는 마을교육공동체와 교사가 상호작용하면서 학생들의 정의적 측면을 성장시켰으며, 학생들이 우리 마을이라는 것에 대한 친숙함으로 인해 즐거움과 고마움을 느꼈기 때문으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of ecological experience education program on environmental sensitivity and awareness of respect for life based on the educational village community, which is a place where elementary school students live. This study was conducted between May and December 2018 with 172 6th grade students. Before and after conducting the ecological experience education program of the village education community, a survey was conducted on the environmental sensitivity and respect for life. The results of the study are as follows. First, the ecological experience education program of the educational village community for elementary school students was developed. The program, which was developed as a total of 14 classes, was designed to enable students to experience activities that can learn knowledge and solve problems related to rivers and forests around the village. Second, the developed ecological experience education program of educational village community showed meaningful results in all factors of environmental sensitivity. Therefore, the ecological experience education program of the educational village community utilizing human and material resources was effective in improving the environmental sensitivity of elementary school students. Third, although the developed ecological experience education program of educational village community showed meaningful results in factors of the attitude and behavior of respect for life, but there was no significant difference in factor of knowledge of respect for life. The reason is that the students emotive aspects have developed by the interaction between the educational village community and the teachers. Additionally, it is reasoned that students felt pleasure and gratitude because of the familiarity about their own village.
